CW Tower reinforces its leadership in energy and environmental conservation by receiving the 'MEA Energy Awards 2024' Platinum symbol, recognized for its outstanding energy efficiency and high air quality standards, along with sustainable environmental management.

Mr. Pongsak Nuntawanakul, Managing Director of CW Tower received the MEA ENERGY AWARDS symbol from Mr. Pipat Chaloemphai, Deputy Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority at the “Award Announcement and Presentation Ceremony for the MEA ENERGY AWARDS Year 7” organized by the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) at the Aksra Theatre, King Power, Bangkok, recently.

Mr. Pongsak Nuntawanakul, Managing Director of CW Tower revealed that CW Tower is committed to conducting business with environmental considerations, aiming to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere to mitigate global warming. In the past, plans have been made, policies established, and clear working groups formed to ensure participation and understanding across all sectors, focusing on social benefits and environmental friendliness, under the principles of sustainability in all dimensions, including environmental, social, and governance aspects. Various projects have been implemented as follows:

1. Installation of Air Scrubber in collaboration with SCG to reduce energy within the air conditioning system and maintain pure air quality.

2. Installation of DDC Controller to reduce energy through precise control of the air conditioning system.

3. Installation of solar panels in the high-roof parking area to increase the use of renewable energy.

4. Implementation of rainwater harvesting tanks for watering plants within the building and cleaning the streets to reduce tap water usage.

5. Zero Food Waste project, installing food waste shredders to convert waste into plant nutrients.

6. Perks from Trash project, encouraging tenants to sort waste to accumulate points for benefits.

CW Tower has passed the rigorous evaluation criteria in three areas under the Energy Efficiency Improvement Program for Buildings (2023), Year 7, which includes standards for executive engagement, sustainability in energy and environmental conservation, and clear improvements in energy usage and savings.

“MEA ENERGY AWARDS” is the energy-efficient building standard award from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) under the Energy Efficiency Improvement Program for Buildings, organized under the concept of “efficient energy use and standard air quality,” to promote and honor buildings that have continuously implemented energy conservation measures and maintain good indoor air quality, achieving a perfect energy usage index as defined by MEA. The highest award symbol, Platinum, is given to buildings that meet the standards with a total score of 80% or higher, demonstrating effective energy use and good air quality suitable for building occupants.
