CW Tower Moves Towards Zero Waste to Landfill Goal, Partners with Huai Khwang District Office to Launch CW Eco Bloom Project: Organic Waste to Plants
CW Tower, in collaboration with the Huai Khwang District Office, is advancing the concept of a circular economy and promoting environmental sustainability by launching the “CW Eco Bloom” project, which invites residents of Huai Khwang to separate organic waste and deliver it to CW Tower for processing into plant nutrients. These nutrients can be reused in households or community green spaces at no cost, with the aim of making Huai Khwang a model area for “zero food waste”.

Mr. Nakrob Kulpanit, General Manager of CW Tower, stated, “CW Tower is committed to environmental operations while caring for the surrounding community by participating in environmental preservation efforts. This includes reducing landfill waste and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, which are major contributors to global warming. We have continuously organized environmental activities and recognize the potential of the community and partner organizations to collaboratively create a sustainable green city. Thus, we have partnered with the Huai Khwang District Office to launch the 'CW Eco Bloom: Organic Waste to Plants' project, which will be the starting point for driving the Zero Waste to Landfill goal for a truly clean, safe, and environmentally friendly city. This aligns with the ongoing 'Do Not Mix' project promoted by Bangkok to encourage residents to properly separate waste before disposal and transform waste into value that can sustainably return to the community.”

The CW Eco Bloom project: Organic Waste to Plants involves separating food waste for processing into plant nutrients, which will help reduce community waste and categorize waste according to the Do Not Mix project, allowing separated waste to be reused following the 3R approach: Reduce-Reuse-Recycle. CW Tower and the Huai Khwang District Office have also engaged with the community to raise awareness about proper waste separation through 'how-to dispose' methods, promoting public participation in waste management from the source. Residents are encouraged to bring vegetable scraps, fruit peels, or food waste to designated collection points for processing into plant nutrients that can be used in their households or public areas in Huai Khwang.
Mr. Somboon Kheukirattham, Director of Huai Khwang District, said, “Bangkok has initiated a campaign to encourage waste separation to help reduce waste volume in the city and lower waste collection costs, which enhances the efficiency of the entire waste management system. This also improves the quality of life for Bangkok residents and reduces greenhouse gas emissions in line with waste volume. The Huai Khwang District Office prioritizes local waste management, especially organic waste that can be beneficially reused. In addition to supporting policy initiatives and closely coordinating with the community to create an effective waste management system, we also promote environmental knowledge among residents. Our collaboration with CW Tower under the CW Eco Bloom project aims to raise public awareness about the value of waste separation from the source, which not only alleviates environmental burdens but also brings benefits back to the community in the form of plant nutrients. We hope this project will stimulate positive changes at the household level and can be scaled up in the long term.”
The launch of the “CW Eco Bloom: Organic Waste to Plants” project marks another significant step for CW Tower in its ongoing commitment to environmental missions, building on the Perks from Trash project that focuses on systematic waste management within the building. It also expands collaboration with partners from the social and business sectors across various projects to jointly drive the goal of creating a clean, livable, and truly environmentally friendly city.
