Mr. Ongart Suwanakul, Senior Assistant Vice President of Condominium Project Development at Sansiri Public Company Limited or SIRI stated that Sansiri has collaborated with the Faculty of Architecture at Bangkok University to launch the BUD : D AWARD project, which stands for BU or Bangkok University and D for dcondo, the leading brand in the campus condo market. This initiative invites students from Bangkok University to design a common area of 1 rai (1,600 sq.m.) under the theme “Design for Every Lifestyle, Well-rounded” to contribute to the development of projects that meet the needs of real users. The BUD : D AWARD competition not only allows architecture students with design skills to showcase their talents but also opens the floor for all students and staff at Bangkok University to participate in voting for the Popular Vote award, ensuring that the most suitable and relevant ideas are selected based on the principle of “Residents at the Center of Design.” The winning entries and those receiving the Popular Vote will be awarded a total prize of over 100,000 baht, along with the opportunity to intern with the design team at Sansiri. Additionally, the most suitable design concepts will be incorporated into the design guidelines for the common area of the new dcondo project opposite Bangkok University, which is set to launch soon.

“Sansiri's development philosophy is based on the concept of "YOU Are Made For Life" which builds upon the idea of “YOU-Centric,” reflecting Sansiri's commitment to understanding and addressing the evolving needs of today’s individuals. By placing “YOU” at the center, the company aims to develop products and services that deliver happiness in a way that truly represents the diverse identities of its customers. Furthermore, what sets Sansiri apart from its competitors is its focus on design and quality, which are the core principles in developing the “dcondo” brand, making it the leading brand in the “Campus Condo” market by emphasizing product development that meets the needs of actual residents.

Affordable condos are developed under the concept of 'Stay Well-rounded, condos designed for a well-rounded life,' reflecting a well-being lifestyle in locations that offer privacy and prioritize safety for the predominantly student residents. This approach has already proven successful in several projects, such as dcondo Campus Resort Rangsit, dcondo Campus Resort Dome Rangsit, dcondo Hideaway, and dcondo Shine near Thammasat University, as well as dcondo Hype near Bangkok University, all of which achieved high sales on pre-sale days.

For the BUD D AWARD project, Sansiri recognizes the importance of developing condominium projects that truly meet the needs of actual users. This includes not only ensuring that the common areas are sufficient for use but also focusing on the maintenance of the surrounding environment. This approach fosters sustainable project development from the conceptualization and design phases through to project completion and long-term management. Therefore, the idea of involving students in the design of common areas allows them to apply their classroom knowledge—be it concepts, theories, or other relevant aspects—in real-world applications, which is a significant professional skill development opportunity for students. It also confirms that Campus Condo from Sansiri is genuinely developed to meet the needs of students at Bangkok University,” Mr. Ongart stated.

Associate Professor Dr. Rithirong Chutaphruthikorn, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Bangkok University mentioned that this is a great opportunity for students at Bangkok University to engage in real design work on open-ended projects that encourage new creative ideas (New Idea) that can effectively design the common areas of condominium projects both inside and outside the building, truly addressing the needs of residents. Moreover, the design concepts from the winning entries will also serve as guidelines for future common area designs for dcondo projects. This will be a source of pride for students and a valuable work experience for their future careers. Additionally, the winning designs will have the opportunity to intern with the design team at Sansiri, a company renowned for its residential design and ranked 1 among the top 10 companies that young people aspire to work for, alongside global leaders like Google, LINE, and Apple. This project is open to undergraduate students in architecture and interior design from all years at Bangkok University, and students from all faculties and years are encouraged to participate in voting for the works to ensure the most suitable and relevant ideas are selected. We hope to see many students join this project.
