Messe Düsseldorf Asia announces that infrastructure investment in ASEAN is growing well, preparing to showcase new technology from Europe at the “GIFA – METEC 2022” event, confident that it will drive demand for wire, cables, pipes, and the metal industry to continue growing. The Thai Foundry Industry Association is also set to showcase innovative Thai products at the event, believing it will attract more international customers.

Mr. Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia stated that Southeast Asia is seeing investment in infrastructure, including private sector construction, industrial investment, clean energy usage, and electric vehicles, which are crucial for increasing demand for wire, cables, pipes, conduits, and metals. Currently, the region consumes over 73.3% of steel, and global demand for finished steel is expected to grow beyond 1.77 billion tons, leading to an anticipated average annual growth of 6.1% in the wire and cable industry over the next four years.

The total market value of wire and cables in Thailand is currently over 55 billion baht, with significant investments in infrastructure industries, particularly in drainage and wastewater treatment systems. It is projected that the market value of pipes in ASEAN could grow to as much as 24.8 billion USD by 2028.

Messe Düsseldorf Asia is preparing to organize four major events in Thailand:

1. International Wire & Cable Trade Fair for Southeast Asia

2. International Tube & Pipe Trade Fair for Southeast Asia

3. International Foundry Trade Fair and Forum for Southeast Asia (GIFA)

4. International Metallurgical Trade Fair and Forum for Southeast Asia (METEC)

These four events will gather technology for producing wire, cables, pipes, conduits, metal casting, and metallurgy in Thailand, uniting partners and bringing together over 200 exhibitors from more than 30 countries worldwide, including Germany, Italy, the UK, the USA, India, and Japan, among others. They will showcase technologies and innovations related to the industry and infrastructure investment, ensuring that Thailand will be an excellent hub for trade exhibitions in the ASEAN region, attracting visitors from various countries, with an expected attendance of no less than 6,500 people.

Mr. Piradech Trongkitpaisarn, President of the Thai Foundry Industry Association stated that the association is preparing to showcase Thai products and innovations at this event, confident that it will attract more international customers while exchanging views on technology and innovations in the metal industry to enhance product development in Thailand.

The four events focusing on wire, cable, pipe, conduit, metal casting, and metallurgy will take place from October 5-7, 2022, at the BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangna.
