SHARGE has showcased its roadmap to Scale Up EV Future, aiming to meet the target of 1.05 million EVs of all types by 2025. The company is moving forward to increase its EV Charging Ecosystem partners to 50 by 2025, enhancing opportunities to penetrate the EV charging station and charging point market in residential areas, shopping malls, office buildings, hotels, hospitals, educational institutions, rest areas, energy stations, and logistics companies. The goal is to establish 600 charging stations with 2,400 charging points by 2025, solidifying its position as the number one in the residential market.

SHARGE is also expanding its services nationwide, launching landmark Super Fast Charge stations in collaboration with partners, and extending its services to all types of vehicles through partnerships with Fleet Operators, including passenger and freight transport companies, to generate long-term revenue and assist in transitioning the country to clean energy, reducing pollution. The company aims to become a leader in providing comprehensive EV Charging Solutions, targeting cumulative sales of 3 billion baht over the next five years.

Mr. Pirapat Sirichantaropas, Managing Director of Charge Management Co., Ltd. (SHARGE), a leader in creating the EV Charging Ecosystem to meet sustainable lifestyle needs, revealed that the global electric vehicle (EV) usage is continuously growing. The overall number of EVs worldwide from 2010 to 2020 has averaged a growth rate of about 76% per year, reaching 10.2 million vehicles, and is expected to continue to grow significantly due to major countries implementing supportive measures and policies that provide benefits to EV manufacturers. For instance, China has over 4.5 million EVs due to tax exemptions and funding support for manufacturers. Meanwhile, the essential infrastructure for EVs, such as charging stations and charging points, is also expected to increase globally. In Germany, it is projected that public charging stations will rise to 300,000 by 2025 and exceed 700,000 by 2030.

In Thailand, there is a clear goal to promote the use of EVs concretely, with the National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee (EV Board) aiming for over 1.05 million electric vehicles of all types by 2025.

Based on this target, the company anticipates that Thailand will require at least 1 million EV charging sessions per week by 2025 and will need sufficient EV infrastructure, including charging stations. Therefore, the company will proceed with its Scale Up EV Future plan, which includes four main strategies: Stronger Ecosystem – More Stations – New Solutions – More Innovations to develop the EV charging station infrastructure to meet future demand in Thailand and align with the global mega-trend of EV growth.

Starting with Stronger Ecosystem, SHARGE is collaborating with new partners in the EV charging ecosystem, including residential project developers, shopping mall developers, office building developers, hotel operators, property management companies, energy producers and retailers, automotive manufacturers, educational institutions, hospitals, and logistics operators, to promote the establishment of EV charging stations that meet future user demands comprehensively. The number of partners is expected to increase to about 27 by 2022 and reach 50 by 2025.

“Building partnerships across all sectors is essential and will be a crucial cog in driving Thailand to have sufficient charging stations and points to meet the enormous future demand. SHARGE is open to discussions with operators across various sectors, as well as general users who wish to have EV chargers in their residences, to jointly Scale Up EV Future and prepare Thailand to be on par with global EV standards, creating infrastructure that will help reduce pollution and be more environmentally friendly,” Mr. Pirapat stated.

Regarding More Stations, the company plans to increase the number of charging stations and points, both alternating current (AC) for residential areas and comprehensive services across all provinces nationwide, and direct current (DC) Super Fast Charge stations at rest areas and key locations across all four regions. In 2022, the goal is to have at least 600 charging stations of all types and 2,000-2,400 charging points, reinforcing its position as the number one leader in the EV Charging Station market in residential areas. Additionally, this year, the largest landmark charging station will be built within a 200-kilometer radius of Bangkok, featuring three key aspects: 1. More charging points than regular stations, 2. A station with DC Super Fast Charge points that provide the fastest charging in Thailand, allowing charging times to be comparable to traditional refueling without changing consumer behavior, and 3. Food and services that cater to both people and vehicles.

In terms of New Solutions, the company previously focused on three market segments based on the lifestyle charging habits of general users (Lifestyle Charging Ecosystem), which include:

1. NIGHT - Users who charge at home during the night.

2. DAY - Users who charge during the day at destinations such as shopping malls and office buildings.

3. ON-THE-GO - Users who charge at charging stations while traveling between provinces or other locations.

Moving forward, the company will expand its service scope to cover all types of vehicles by targeting Fleet Operators, such as logistics companies and passenger and freight transport services, as they have a significant need to reduce fuel energy costs from extensive daily travel.

Many companies are beginning to have a clear vision of transitioning to clean energy. The company will continue discussions with at least five Fleet Operators this year to facilitate the transition from combustion engines to electric engines, establishing a foundation for long-term recurring income. It is expected to announce at least one partnership soon, which will revolutionize the EV industry.

Regarding More Innovations, the company has developed the SHARGE application, featuring various new functionalities to meet the needs of EV users who wish to utilize EV charging stations, such as Queuing System, which accommodates increased electricity demand, allowing users to reserve usage in advance; Admin Dashboard, which enables station owners to monitor real-time operations; and Privilege, catering to organizations seeking fleet solutions for electric vehicles, available for download on both the App Store and Play Store.

Mr. Pirapat further stated that the company is currently the number one provider of EV Chargers in residential projects. As it advances its Scale Up EV Ecosystem plan, the company aims to become a leader in providing comprehensive EV Charging Solutions, targeting cumulative sales of 3 billion baht over the next five years and playing a crucial role in driving the sustainable growth of Thailand's EV Charging Ecosystem, enabling Thai people to access energy at lower prices, reducing air pollution, and contributing to a cleaner, more environmentally friendly future for Thailand.
