SCB WEALTH Rises to the Top of Wealth Lending Business in Thailand with Loan Portfolio Surpassing 35 Billion Baht, Aiming for Over 10% Growth This Year
SCB WEALTH reinforces its position as the market leader in Wealth Lending in Thailand with an approved loan amount exceeding 35 billion baht from 2019 to 2025, holding the highest market share in the industry. The goal is to achieve over 10% growth in 2026, supported by low interest rates and the investment loan demand from wealthy clients to enhance long-term investment portfolio growth.
Mr. Sornchai Sunetta, CFA Deputy Head of High Net Worth and Affluent Banking at Siam Commercial Bank, revealed that SCB WEALTH continues to maintain its leadership in the Wealth Lending market in Thailand with the highest market share in the industry, having approved loans exceeding 35 billion baht from 2019 to 2025. This success reflects a business operation aligned with the bank's wealth management strategy under the concept of 'Your Success. Our Success.' which focuses on creating a comprehensive financial ecosystem rather than just transactional lending services. This approach helps clients manage their long-term assets effectively, enhancing liquidity and fostering growth in their investment portfolios while diversifying personal wealth for sustainable returns.
“The key to success in the Wealth Lending business is the collaboration of a team of experts who have a deep understanding of lending, investment, and the behavior of wealthy clients, allowing them to design solutions that meet the specific needs of each client while managing the loan portfolio with quality. This is reflected in the strength of the loan portfolio, the continuity of client relationships, and the trust in SCB WEALTH,” Mr. Sornchai stated.
For 2026, SCB WEALTH aims for a growth target of over 10% in Wealth Lending loans, supported by the trend of low interest rates. The Monetary Policy Committee recently reduced the policy interest rate from 1.25% to 1.00% in a meeting on February 25, 2026, to support the growth of the Thai economy. This will enable investors to access lower financial costs and increase demand for investment loans, further enhancing wealth through potential assets both domestically and internationally.
At the same time, SCB WEALTH continues to focus on holistic wealth advisory for wealthy clients by offering quality, modern, and flexible financial solutions, alongside building long-term relationships with clients and expanding the customer base through systematic asset management advice for long-term holdings.
The Wealth Lending service utilizes loans as a tool for wealth management, allowing clients to use assets such as real estate and financial securities as collateral to borrow money, which must then be invested to enhance wealth. This is managed by a team of investment advisors, with investments falling under SCBX financial products, including mutual funds, bonds, and stocks in both primary and secondary markets, as well as access to international investment solutions through SCB Julius Baer to help clients manage their capital effectively, adhering to suitability and repayment capability principles.
