The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE) in collaboration with N.C.C. and Messe Frankfurt is organizing the "Thailand Smart City Expo 2025 - Secutech Thailand 2025," showcasing the largest smart city technology products in ASEAN. The event will expand its exhibition space by 80%, accommodating over 800 of the latest technologies from leading countries, with an expected attendance of over 15,000 visitors and an economic impact exceeding 1.2 billion baht.

Minister Chaiyacharn Chidchob of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE) stated that one of the key missions of the ministry is to leverage digital technology and infrastructure as tools to drive national development, enhance the quality of life for citizens, improve public service efficiency, and bolster Thailand's economic competitiveness in the digital age, ensuring sustainable growth for Thai society.

The ministry also aims to accelerate the government's policy of "fast-tracking digital government development" by promoting digital technology as a primary tool for the public sector to provide convenient, fast, transparent services accessible to all citizens. This includes advancing digital infrastructure development and promoting the use of open data to enhance public administration efficiency and create economic opportunities at all levels.

Additionally, the Ministry of Digital Economy emphasizes enhancing the digital skills of citizens, believing that sustainable smart city development can only occur when urban residents possess ready digital skills. Therefore, developing smart cities is a crucial mechanism for improving the quality of life for Thai people, not only to create modern cities but also to build cities that understand their residents, utilizing technology purposefully to make life more convenient, safer, and to provide more opportunities for career development and increased income.

To date, DEPA has developed 37 smart cities in Thailand and aims to reach 105 cities by 2027. This includes preparing local agencies with government cloud services for public service, integrating city data for policy decision-making, and employing advanced digital technologies such as AI and IoT to enhance urban management efficiency while promoting local citizens' digital skills to participate in creating smart cities themselves.

“If we can harmonize the power of technology, innovation, and people effectively, Thailand's smart cities will not only be modern but will grow alongside their residents, creating new opportunities and genuinely enhancing the quality of life for everyone. The Thailand Smart City Expo 2025 today serves as an important platform that unites the strengths of all sectors and international partners to exchange knowledge and present new ideas, technologies, and innovations, elevating residential areas to sustainable smart cities,” said Minister Chaiyacharn.

Dr. Natthapol Nimmana-patcharin, Director-General of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) stated that DEPA has a crucial mission to drive the development of smart cities in Thailand through integrated collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, and local communities. This includes policy formulation and creating mechanisms to stimulate smart city development, enhancing the potential of cities to become smart in every dimension, a process that has been ongoing for over six years.

Currently, DEPA has developed a second-phase master plan for promoting the digital economy, with the goal of supporting smart city development included in Strategy 3, which focuses on creating new opportunities and equitable prosperity through smart city development. This aims to promote the use of technology and innovation to improve urban service efficiency through various projects such as Smart Living/Smart Living Plus, enhancing digital skills for communities and farmers nationwide; Thailand Smart City Competitiveness Index, recognizing cities with potential for smart city development; Smart City Logo, incentivizing cities to upgrade to sustainable smart cities; DEPA mini-Transformation Voucher (public sector), supporting the adoption of digital technology in public services; Smart City Accelerator, developing and promoting digital startups in smart city technology; and Thailand Digital Catalog, compiling standard technology service providers for public and private agencies to choose from conveniently and transparently.

The Thailand Smart City Expo 2025 serves as an important platform for uniting collaborative efforts between the public sector, private sector, and international organizations to exchange knowledge, technology, and sustainable urban development strategies, while also creating opportunities for business matchmaking to develop solutions that address real urban challenges, enabling the rapid advancement of Thailand's smart city development.

Mr. Sakchai Patthaprichakul, Executive Director of N.C.C. Management and Development Co., Ltd. stated that the Thailand Smart City Expo is organized through collaboration between N.C.C. Management and Development Co., Ltd. and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), continuing for the fourth time and for the first year in conjunction with Secutech Thailand 2025, the ASEAN security technology exhibition, in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt Taiwan. The integration of these two events marks another significant step in advancing Thailand's smart city technology industry.

The Thailand Smart City Expo 2025 showcases technologies and innovations for smart city development across seven key industrial sectors: SMART Telecom, SMART Energy, SMART Living, SMART Industry & Retail, SMART Mobility, SMART Environment, and SMART Healthcare, addressing urban development in all dimensions. The objective is to promote urban development projects in Thailand and the ASEAN region through the use of innovative and smart technologies. The Thailand Smart City Expo has seen continuous growth each year, and this year has expanded its exhibition space by over 80% to accommodate over 700 of the latest innovations and technologies from leading countries worldwide, including Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, the Netherlands, China, and many others. The event will also feature seminars for knowledge exchange, allowing attendees to share knowledge and experiences with experts across more than 80 topics over three days. The Thailand Smart City Expo 2025 will take place from November 5 to 7 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, expecting participation from at least 15,000 attendees from both public and private sectors, domestically and internationally, generating an economic impact of over 1.2 billion baht.

Ms. Regina Chai, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt Taiwan stated that Messe Frankfurt, in collaboration with N.C.C., is organizing Secutech Thailand 2025 under a shared vision of creating safer, smarter, and more sustainable cities. This year, Secutech Thailand is being held alongside the Thailand Smart City Expo from November 5 to 7 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, showcasing the latest innovations in security systems, fire prevention, and smart city solutions that will shape the future of urban areas.

This year, over 400 exhibitors from 10 countries worldwide are participating, reflecting the growing market demand for integrated solutions that connect safety, fire prevention, and smart city development. The event has created a comprehensive ecosystem for stakeholders from all sectors to meet, exchange ideas, and respond to the changing needs of cities, industries, and communities. Additionally, the event features business matchmaking activities to promote collaboration and sustainable growth in the future.

Furthermore, support from government agencies and various industry associations has led to over 27 professional seminars and discussions throughout the three-day event, providing opportunities for attendees to exchange views, inspire one another, and collaboratively shape the new direction of this industry.

Dr. Supawan Teerarat, Director of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) stated that supporting the Thailand Smart City Expo and Secutech Thailand is a drive to realize the policy of creating a Thai MICE industry ecosystem. The collaboration from all sectors reflects Thailand's strength, building international confidence that Thailand is a destination ready to achieve success in terms of Return on Investment and Return on Experience.

TCEB also utilizes the exhibition platform to support future industries in line with government policy, with the digital industry being one of the main targets. Therefore, both events hold significant importance in enhancing the country's competitive capabilities.

The integration of the two events also helps create a high-value (High Value) and high-impact (High Impact) exhibition, showcasing Thailand's potential to the world (Inside Out) and attracting global expertise into the country (Outside In). TCEB believes that this event will drive Thailand's Smart City initiative and propel the country towards becoming a High Value Destination.
