Dr. Nalika Atipak Saengsanit, Managing Director of DAD, discussed the progress of Road No. 10, which connects the Chalerm Phrakiat Government Complex in Chaeng Watthana with Prachachuen Road. The construction is nearing completion, with the latest phase involving the installation of bridge beams over the water canal, expected to be finished around February 2024. Various details are currently being checked, so it is anticipated that this road will be ready for public use by the second quarter of 2024. Road No. 10 spans approximately 1.3 kilometers and can accommodate up to 100,000 vehicles per day.

“DAD has coordinated with the 11th Military District to request the use of approximately 5 rai of land and has also coordinated with the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority to request about 11 rai of land for the construction of Road No. 10. This is aimed at alleviating traffic problems on Chaeng Watthana Road and providing an alternative route for those visiting the Chalerm Phrakiat Government Complex and the Chulabhorn Hospital. We would like to thank Dr. Chatchart Sitthiphan, the Governor of Bangkok, for supporting the construction budget,”

Road No. 10 will feature 4 traffic lanes and a drainage system, starting from Prachachuen Road, crossing the water canal, passing through the 11th Military District and the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, crossing Bang Talat Canal, and ending at the internal road of the Chalerm Phrakiat Government Complex in Chaeng Watthana. The total length of the project is approximately 1.3 kilometers. Previously, DAD coordinated the construction of Road No. 8, or Chalerm Phrakiat Chulabhorn Road, which has 4 lanes in both directions and a length of 825 meters, connecting to Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road to link to Vibhavadi Rangsit Road.

The inception of Road No. 10 began with the signing of a memorandum of understanding among six agencies, including the Chulabhorn Royal Academy, the 11th Military District, the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Treasury Department, and DAD on November 17, 2021, with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Public Works Department responsible for the construction.

Additionally, DAD is developing a smart hub project, constructing Parking Building D (DEPOT), and coordinating with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority to provide bus services for citizens visiting the Chalerm Phrakiat Government Complex in Chaeng Watthana, ensuring convenient and quick transportation. This reinforces their commitment to systematically addressing traffic issues under the motto, “Delivering satisfaction for sustainable happiness.”
