Mr. Samatcha Promsiri, Chief of Staff of Sansiri Public Company Limited, announced that Sansiri wishes to congratulate the significant change in Thailand, as the House of Representatives has voted to accept the draft of the marriage equality law, reflecting the participation of citizens who have long awaited legal reforms and desire to see equality and equity in Thai society. Once this law is enforced in Thailand, same-sex couples will be able to marry legally, and more importantly, they will receive the rights and freedoms to marry just like any other couples, similar to over 30 countries worldwide that have enacted same-sex marriage laws.

At Sansiri, we are an organization that continuously supports and respects equality and diversity, valuing every difference in every life through concrete policies. We are the first company in Thailand and one of 200 leading companies worldwide to sign the UN Global Standards of Conduct for Business, established by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), to promote equality in society and reduce discrimination. Our goals include five key points: 1. Respecting the human rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals in all operations and business relationships; 2. Eliminating all forms of discrimination against LGBTQIA+ employees in the workplace; 3. Proactively supporting LGBTQIA+ employees by fostering a positive environment that builds confidence, allowing all employees to work together with dignity; 4. Preventing human rights violations that may arise from discrimination against customers, partners, and others; and 5. Advocating for equality publicly, which may include public campaigns, supporting collaborative agreements, encouraging societal discussions, or providing financial support to organizations fighting for LGBTQIA+ rights.

We also ensure that all employees experience equality without discrimination, such as accessible communication with senior management, opportunities for growth, and training programs to help employees understand non-discrimination practices. Our organization is designed with Universal Design principles, featuring ramps for people with disabilities, prayer rooms, nursing rooms, a diverse workforce, and gender-inclusive restrooms at our headquarters.

Additionally, we provide benefits for employees with diverse backgrounds, such as up to 30 days of gender reassignment surgery leave per year, up to 6 days of marriage leave per year. Furthermore, benefits extend to employees' partners, including alternative vaccines and health insurance. Our initiatives under Live Equally... aim to inspire various sectors to promote equality within organizations, contributing to a Thai society that is equitable in every dimension.

For our customers, as a real estate developer, we support everyone in accessing suitable housing and living happily. We have advocated for joint loans for the LGBTQIA+ community, currently collaborating with eight partner banks, including Siam Commercial Bank, Bangkok Bank, Krung Thai Bank, Kasikorn Bank, Government Housing Bank, Government Savings Bank, TMBThanachart Bank, and UOB. All of these efforts support equality, enabling customers to access loans while our partner banks expand their businesses.

“There are still many people in society who live in the gap of inequality due to a lack of opportunities to live their lives authentically. Sansiri is committed to being part of the movement towards true equality and inspiring society to be willing to sacrifice something to provide opportunities for those who still lack them, allowing them to live happily as well,” Mr. Samatcha stated.
