BOI Collaborates with Private Sector to Host MIRA and SUBCON EEC 2023, Elevating Thai SMEs to the Center of Production – Procurement of Components in the ASEAN Region
BOI collaborates with The Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association (Subcon) and Informa Markets to jointly organize MIRA and SUBCON EEC 2023, aiming to transform the Thai industry into the future industry hub for "production and procurement of components in the ASEAN region" as part of the strategy to reshape Thailand into a new economy. It is expected to facilitate over 600 business matches, creating a business linkage value of over 2 billion baht.

Mr. Narit Therdsathirak, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment, stated that the BOI recognizes the importance of integrating domestic raw material or component manufacturers into the global supply chain, particularly for high-quality Thai SMEs in emerging industries such as electric vehicles (EV), electronics, automation, and robotics. The BOI, in collaboration with partner organizations, continues to organize industrial linkage activities and business matching events. The collaboration with the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association (Subcon) and Informa Markets, a leader in international trade shows, to host MIRA (Maintenance, Industrial Robotics, and Automation) and SUBCON EEC 2023 in the EEC area for the second consecutive year will enhance opportunities for Thai operators to collaborate with leading companies from abroad in production contracts, technology transfer, domestic component procurement, or joint ventures between Thailand and foreign entities, thereby strengthening the supply chain of targeted industries.
Mr. Kiatisak Jirakachornwong, President of the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association, stated that the increased investment in the EEC area presents a significant opportunity for Thai operators to connect with new investors in targeted industries. The association is ready to serve as a hub to link Thai operators to the international trade stage by finding important platforms at the regional level for its over 400 member companies to create new trade opportunities. Being part of the Subcon Thailand event, which has been held for over 17 years, and the expansion of the Subcon EEC event, which was first held last year and received excellent feedback with over 90% of members participating, serves as a strong endorsement of confidence in doing business with Thai suppliers and partners. The association is confident that the SUBCON EEC 2023 event will be another key to unlocking new opportunities for Thai operators, especially in the targeted industries that will elevate this economic zone into a regional hub.
Mr. Sanchai Numboonnam, General Manager - Thailand, Informa Markets, announced that MIRA and SUBCON EEC 2023 will take place for the second year from September 6-8, 2023, at the Nong Nooch International Convention and Exhibition Center in Pattaya, Chonburi Province. The event will showcase modern technologies and innovations in industrial maintenance, covering electric vehicles, electrical appliances, electronics, machinery, and future industries such as aircraft maintenance, medical equipment, robotics, and automation, bringing together service providers from both Thailand and Japan to share experiences and exchange information.
Additionally, a key highlight will be the business matching organized by the BOI, along with updates on trends and new knowledge in the industrial sector from experts who will share firsthand experiences through various seminar topics to connect with major buyers from around the world.
