Launch of Nova BUILD EXPO 2023 at BITEC Bangna from September 13-15
EEC Academy has launched the Nova BUILD EXPO 2023, an exhibition showcasing building innovations, designs, and various products related to buildings and constructions, taking place from September 13-15 at Hall 103-104, BITEC Bangna. This event is organized sustainably in line with the guidelines of the Office of the Promotion of Meetings and Exhibitions (Public Organization), or TCEB. The event emphasizes the idea of modern building innovations addressing three key dimensions (ESI), which include:
- Environmentally conscious buildings (Eco system)
- Buildings that promote global and community sustainability (Sustainability)
- Buildings that care about the quality of living and enhance building efficiency (Innovation for Well-being)

Dr. Kachai Teerakomen, President of Nova BUILD, revealed the purpose of the event is to gather design innovations, product innovations, and valuable ideas from four essential disciplines for real estate projects, including architecture, engineering, management, and building technology, along with real estate and urban planning. Participants can learn about the latest innovations across all disciplines in one place, share experiences related to buildings, improve their projects, reduce energy consumption, minimize environmental impact, enhance work efficiency, and maximize investment returns.
Trends in the Thai construction industry for 2023 predict that the construction value will grow to 1.48 trillion baht. The private sector construction is expected to expand to 603 billion baht in 2023, with 60% of office buildings developed in the past six years certified as green buildings (buildings certified for environmental preservation). It is anticipated that around 80% of new office spaces, totaling over 1.67 million square meters, to be completed in the next 4-5 years will also receive certification, indicating a growing trend of green buildings, which will account for 31% of the total supply in Bangkok.
Mr. Kittikhun Koshanee, Executive Director of Nova BUILD, stated that this event is supported by professional associations, educational institutions, and both public and private sectors with the expertise to collaboratively promote good innovations to society and instill knowledge and awareness in the younger generation about environmental sustainability. The activities within the event align with the lifestyle of modern individuals, emphasizing community participation to inspire (Inspired), foster creative thinking (Innovative), and encourage collaboration (Engaged).
Dr. Kandee Liewphairoj, Executive Director of Future Tales Lab by MQDC, noted that throughout history, the greatest innovations have emerged from crises. Today, the changing environment has reached a critical point that we all must collectively take responsibility for the future of upcoming generations. We need to leverage innovation and collaboration to create a livable world for our children and future generations.
Mr. Chanat Ekkratanakul, Project Executive Director, revealed that Nova BUILD EXPO is managed by EEC Academy, a subsidiary of EEC Engineering Network, a leader in engineering design for systems with a strong reputation both domestically and internationally, and has numerous partnerships across business and government sectors, including real estate developers and public and private agencies. The event is themed “A showcase of building innovations and creativity that enhances happiness and safety for a better environment and a sustainable world.”
Mr. Jirutt Isarangkun Na Ayutthaya, Director of the Office of the Promotion of Meetings and Exhibitions (Public Organization) or TCEB, which supports knowledge, guides, and tools for sustainable event organization, stated, "TCEB has set strategies using sustainable practices to drive Thailand's event industry, making it a selling point that can respond to the global community's important agendas, which will attract events to be held in Thailand. One mechanism to achieve this goal is to support events that reflect the sustainable development of the Thai private sector. Therefore, Nova BUILD EXPO 2023 is significant in amplifying the sustainability message within the Thai event industry and can enhance Thailand's credibility in the global market as a responsible driver of sustainable development that is socially and environmentally accountable."

Nova BUILD EXPO 2023 is an exhibition that gathers innovations in all aspects that support buildings friendly to residents and the environment, especially for buildings seeking certification from both domestic and international standards, such as LEED, WELL, and TREES Standards. Building innovations will contribute to essential characteristics of these standards, including:
- Water conservation
- Energy conservation
- Selection of green building materials
- Improvement of indoor conditions, including:
- Light quality
- Air quality
- Water quality
- Sound quality
- Temperature
The organization of Nova BUILD EXPO 2023 has received support for responsible social and environmental event management through a basic guideline manual for sustainable event organization from the Office of the Promotion of Meetings and Exhibitions (Public Organization) (TCEB).
Nova BUILD EXPO serves as a large networking platform that brings together experts from various fields to share knowledge and opinions. Additionally, it provides a stage for innovators or owners of new products to present to the public, facilitating discussions on all aspects related to buildings, including design, materials science, construction technology, building technology, management, and specialized services in various building sectors, all in one space.
Highlight activities within the event include:
- Round Table Forum for professionals from various perspectives
- Training and discussions on innovations in various fields (Innovation Conference)
- Inspiration projects (ESI Talk) and a creativity competition for students (Pitching Innovation)
- Innovation Pavilion for knowledge exchange
- Nova Awards for outstanding innovations
- Collaboration projects with organizations related to construction and buildings (Association Sharing & Activities)
- Multi-organization agreement projects (Building Summit)
- Public Survey to gather participants' opinions
Special discussion Why does the city need ESI Thinking Power? Why does urban society need environmental sustainability thinking power and innovations to enhance quality of life? featuring:
- Dr. Chatchart Sitthiphan, Governor of Bangkok
- Dr. Singha Inthrasuchato, Chief Advisor of RISC
- Dr. Kachai Teerakomen, President of EEC and Innovation
