The BIMObject Green Design Competition 2022, supported by CPAC Green Solution, invites young architects and engineers to join in addressing the global environmental crisis and disrupt the construction industry with BIM innovation. This initiative aims to tackle chronic construction issues, such as improper construction leading to material waste, while also instilling a sense of environmental responsibility in the new generation and everyone in the ecosystem, in line with the ESG 4 Plus approach. This effort has earned the prestigious “Autodesk ASEAN Innovation Award 2022” in the Future Pillar of the Year category from Autodesk in Singapore.

Mr. Chana Poomi, Vice President – Cement and Green Solution Business, SCG, stated that the BIMobject Green Design Competition 2022 addresses the need for green design and construction, allowing participants to design and construct a Green Co-Living Space using environmentally friendly products and services. It also focuses on sustainably imparting knowledge to personnel according to SCG's ESG 4 Plus approach, which emphasizes Net Zero, Go Green, Lean, and Collaboration, underpinned by trust and transparency. The initiative highlights Go Green by selecting environmentally friendly products for design and construction, while Lean ensures that CPAC BIM technology is accessible to students nationwide through this competition.

Additionally, this project benefits from a strong network through collaborations with educational institutions nationwide. With Digital Construction from CPAC Green Solution, it brings together organizations involved in BIM technology and Sustainable Design to create competition criteria and share knowledge through practical applications. In the BIMObject Green Design Competition 2022, nearly 200 students from universities across the country, including architecture and engineering departments, participated, reflecting the project's success in making BIM accessible to everyone.

CPAC Green Solution aims to advance through the “Green Construction” strategy, with the goal of enhancing the environmental standards of construction processes for sustainable growth. This includes the efficient use of resources and construction materials, reducing environmental impacts, ensuring health standards, utilizing renewable resources, and transforming waste into value for society through comprehensive solution innovations with CPAC Green Solution, offering eco-friendly products and construction services that continuously generate income while meeting the needs of environmentally conscious customers.

Dr. Wila Sa Vijitwatanakarn, Managing Director of BIMobject Thailand, stated, “One of the main challenges in the construction industry is the shortage of skilled labor. After overcoming the pandemic crisis, we must turn obstacles into opportunities. Over the past three years of online communication and learning, we have reached a broader student audience. For the construction industry, we started by providing opportunities for students across Thailand to learn basic digital design skills and access renowned experts in the construction field equally. These skills and experiences will open doors for new architects and engineers. If we can produce 200-300 architects and engineers skilled in digital technology each year, we will have achieved our goal.”

Mr. Chana further stated that the Autodesk ASEAN Innovation Awards 2022 is a valuable recognition, honoring projects and personnel in the ASEAN region with a vision for the future through the application of innovation and technology, including the use of BIM and solutions for designers, engineers, and construction work from Autodesk. The category in which BIMobject Thailand received the award is Future Pillar of the Year, which recognizes organizations associated with educational institutions that help cultivate knowledge in Digital Construction for students who will become key players in the construction industry in the future. CPAC Green Solution recognizes the importance of this in line with the ESG 4 Plus approach, particularly in Lean, as this project allows students from all institutions nationwide to access BIM technology equally through a digital platform. This award is a source of pride for Thailand, as we are the first and only company from Thailand to receive an award in this category.

CPAC Green Solution is committed to supporting this project in the coming years and expanding its impact to produce quality personnel for the Thai construction industry while promoting the development of environmentally friendly innovations in every construction process, focusing on Go Green innovations that help reduce carbon dioxide emissions as much as possible and maximizing the value of construction waste (Turn Waste to Value),” Mr. Chana concluded.
