Mr. Khunwut Thamphromkul, Managing Director of Home Product Center Public Company Limited, or "HomePro" revealed that the issue of climate change is continuously increasing and is a global problem affecting human life and the environment. The primary factor contributing to climate change is greenhouse gases, which pose a challenge for the company to achieve business growth while reducing environmental impact. The company has established a climate change strategy to achieve its Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions goal by 2050 as follows:

Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Decarbonization)

Renewable Energy aims to increase the proportion of renewable energy used in its operations, with an initial target of 100% renewable energy in company-owned buildings by 2030, expanding to cover all company operations. Currently, the company utilizes renewable energy from solar rooftops in over 48 locations and has installed a Building Control Monitoring System for Energy (BCMS) in 32 locations to automatically control energy usage within buildings, allowing for monitoring and control of major systems automatically, thus reducing electricity consumption.

Green Logistics focuses on managing environmentally friendly transportation processes and using technology to enhance efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation. The company plans to transition its transport vehicles from fossil fuel to electric vehicles. Additionally, it has upgraded its warehouse system to an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), which moves goods within the warehouse using electric power, thereby reducing oil consumption from forklifts.

Waste Management efficiently manages waste and garbage, implementing proper waste segregation based on the circular economy concept, promoting resource efficiency, reuse, recycling, and rematerialization, including exchanging old products for new ones to achieve zero waste.

Responsible Consumption supports responsible consumption following the Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG Model) by developing and promoting eco-friendly products (ECO Products), such as energy-saving products, forest conservation products, water-saving products, and products that reduce greenhouse gases, while also encouraging responsible plastic consumption and sustainable packaging.

Carbon Removal Process (Carbon Removal)

 • Promoting anti-deforestation (No Deforestation) by considering the cessation or reduction of deforestation in the company's operations, whether in the construction of branches or sourcing products from sustainable production sources and ethical sourcing, while encouraging partners to adhere to sustainable forest management standards or certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
 • Planting and maintaining forests or green spaces to absorb and sequester greenhouse gases. In the past, the company collaborated with the Army Natural Study Center (Bang Pu) to celebrate the 72nd birthday of Her Majesty the Queen by launching a mangrove restoration project, planting 40,000 white mangrove and lamphu trees in Bang Pu, Samut Prakan Province, to help mitigate climate change issues.
