Bangkok and Kasikorn Bank Launch 'Doctor Bangkok' App: One App for Accessing 11 Hospitals, Serving Over 4 Million Outpatients Annually
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Kasikorn Bank have jointly launched the 'Doctor Bangkok' application under the 'Smart OPD' project. With just one app (Single App), users can access services from all 11 hospitals under the Bangkok Medical Office, enhancing medical service capabilities with technology that allows users to access healthcare comprehensively and report emergencies quickly. This alleviates the burden on medical personnel serving over 4 million outpatients annually. Interested citizens can download the 'Doctor Bangkok' app starting today, with full services available at all 11 hospitals by the end of March 2022.

Pol. Gen. Asawin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok stated that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has continuously integrated information technology to support the medical service system, responding to the changing lifestyle behaviors in the New Normal, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 'Doctor Bangkok' application under the Smart OPD project aims to enhance the quality of medical services in a new way that emphasizes social distancing and reduces contact to prevent widespread transmission of the virus. Users can access services independently through their smartphones, creating an innovation that connects citizens to both emergency and non-emergency medical services more easily, covering services from all 11 hospitals under the Bangkok Medical Office, which sees over 4 million outpatient visits, as well as the Bangkok Emergency Medical Service Center (Erawan Center), and consolidating health knowledge from doctors and interdisciplinary personnel.

Ms. Kattiya Indaravijaya CEO of Kasikorn Bank mentioned that the bank operates with a balance of economic, social, and environmental considerations, recognizing the importance of using technology to solve problems and enhance quality of life in various dimensions, including promoting public health services. Currently, the demand for medical services is on the rise due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the increasing population, and the aging society, as well as the potential emergence of new diseases in the future.
Kasikorn Bank aims to leverage its technological expertise to support the development of Bangkok's medical service system by creating the 'Doctor Bangkok' application to facilitate users during a time when society still needs to practice social distancing, reducing limitations in the healthcare system amid a significant increase in demand, and preparing for potential future crises. Additionally, this technology allows for the development of new services in the future, aiming to elevate the quality of life for citizens in the long term, aligning with Kasikorn Bank's commitment to building a sustainable society.

The 'Doctor Bangkok' app focuses on developing in three main areas:
1) Connecting data from the central database of hospitals (Hospital Information System: HIS) to display in the application, allowing patients to access their health and treatment history independently, enhancing the efficiency of medical care and services.
2) Creating a user-friendly experience through the application that is quick and easy to use, enabling users to manage their services both inside and outside the hospital.
3) Linking payment systems and various financial services to avoid cash transactions.
Key services in the 'Doctor Bangkok' application include:
- Appointment scheduling, checking appointment lists, receiving appointment reminders, and obtaining queue tickets within the app.
- Checking healthcare eligibility, such as gold card rights, social security rights, and civil servant rights.
- Checking queue status, notifying queue order and service procedures in the hospital.
