Announcement of the 16th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards Results

  • Sansiri Public Company Limited won the Best Developer award, while Manirun Property Company Limited and Utopia Corporation Limited received the Best Developer (Eastern Seaboard Special Development Area) and Best Developer (Phuket) awards, respectively.
  • Mr. Anupong Assavapokin, Vice Chairman and CEO of AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited, won the Real Estate Personality of the Year award.

PropertyGuru Group, a leading real estate technology company in Southeast Asia, has announced the winners of the prestigious PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards for the 16th time, supported by IHG Asia Pacific (Thailand) Limited, Jones Lang LaSalle (Thailand) Limited (JLL Thailand), Mitsubishi Electric Kanyongwattana Limited, and Bathik Products and Sales Limited.

The 16th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards reinforces its status as the longest-running awards event in the country, honoring outstanding real estate developers, projects, and designs across 37 categories. This year's winners represent major cities and diverse regional markets, including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, the Eastern Seaboard Special Development Area, Hua Hin, Phuket, Koh Samui, and other provinces in Thailand.

The 2021 Thailand Real Estate Personality of the Year award, judged by the editorial team of PropertyGuru Property Report Magazine, was awarded to Mr. Anupong Assavapokin, Vice Chairman and CEO of AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited, for leading AP and promoting the concept of "Empower Living," while pioneering innovative products and world-class services, supporting Thai SMEs, and expanding various initiatives for society.

"This prestigious award serves as motivation and will be a driving force for the AP group to continue on the path of relentless development as we carry out our mission to create and support initiatives that allow people to enjoy life on their own terms," said Mr. Anupong.

Sansiri Public Company Limited won the Best Developer award, having previously received this award in 2013. Manirun Property Company Limited won the Best Developer (Eastern Seaboard) award, and Utopia Corporation Limited won the Best Developer (Phuket) award, both of which are new awards this year recognizing outstanding real estate companies in the tourism resort sector.

The judging panel for this award was honored to have Mr. Suphin Mechucheep, Chairman of the Executive Board of Jones Lang LaSalle (Thailand) Limited, as the chairman of the judging panel. The judging committee included Mr. Chaiyuth Saeng-aram, Executive Director of Chatchawal-Royal Haskoning Limited, Mr. Chaiyuth Thirangkun, Managing Director of Arkathan Company Limited, Mr. Leong Choong Peng, Director of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Consultant Chartered Surveyor, Mr. Marciano Birjmohun, Director of the Singapore-Thailand Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Pongthorn Tarachai, Chairman of the Executive Board of Project Planning Service Public Company Limited, Mr. Preecha Supapitiporn, President of the Thai Real Estate Sales and Marketing Association, Ms. Sasivimon Sinthaworanong, Design Principal of Jarken Company Limited, Prof. Dr. Sonthaya Vanichwattana, Architect Association and Head of the Real Estate Department at the Faculty of Management and Economics, MSME Business School, Assumption University, and Mr. Thawatchai Kobkaikij, Managing Director of TK Studio.

The judging committee from various regions included Mr. Clayton Wade, Managing Director of Premier Homes Real Estate, Mr. Daniel Chernov, Managing Director of Siamdr Law Firm, Mr. George Willoughby, Managing Director of Form Realty Thailand, Mr. Martin Porter, Managing Director of OPP, Mr. Robert Krupica, Partner at Hughes Krupica, and Mr. Russ Downing, Managing Director of Hot Hua Hin Co. Ltd..

The award judging process was overseen by the leading international accounting consultancy HLB Thailand to ensure fairness, transparency, reliability, and integrity, led by Mr. Paul Ashburn, Joint Managing Director, Ms. Pranchat Pananun, Consultant, Business Services & Outsourcing, and Ms. Rosathorn Jaroenphakdee, Senior Consultant, Business Services & Outsourcing.

Additionally, the main award winners from Thailand will compete with winners from other countries in the Asia-Pacific region for the Best in Asia award at the 16th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, which is part of PropertyGuru Week in December. The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards for Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Niseko (Japan), India, and Sri Lanka will also be held during PropertyGuru Week.

The PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards 2021 will be broadcast live via the AsiaPropertyAwards.com/tv-podcast website and official platforms on Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, with highlights of the event airing on the History Channel, and there will be another celebration to meet the award winners in early 2022.
