National Housing Authority promotes the "Low-Income Rental Housing Project" to enhance quality of life. Tenants of the Samut Sakhon project (Kratumban 3) express confidence in the care provided by the National Housing Authority, which reduces living expenses, ensures safety, and offers convenient transportation.

Mr. Taweepong Wichaidit, Governor of the National Housing Authority stated that after the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, through the National Housing Authority, opened registration for low-income citizens to book rights for the "Low-Income Rental Housing Project," immediate occupancy is available in 5 provinces: Samut Sakhon with 196 units, Kanchanaburi with 79 units, Maha Sarakham with 138 units, Surin with 163 units, and Ubon Ratchathani with 242 units, totaling 818 units. The living space ranges from 28 to 30 square meters, with rental rates starting from 1,400 to 2,500 baht, depending on the project's location.

Recently, the rental project in Samut Sakhon (Kratumban 3) has been delivered, allowing priority booking for the elderly, disabled individuals, and state welfare cardholders starting from the online registration date. This was from October 1 to 30, 2021, with 88 citizens expressing interest in registration, and 86 meeting the criteria for rental rights. The general public can register for rental rights starting from November 20, 2021, onwards, with walk-in bookings available at the Samut Sakhon Housing Office 2. For more details, call 08 1802 4530 or the Call Center at 1615.

The Samut Sakhon rental project (Kratumban 3) was established to address the housing needs of citizens at affordable prices. It is located on 7 rai of National Housing Authority land, consisting of 4 buildings, each 4 stories high, with living spaces of approximately 28 to 31 square meters, totaling 196 units. The first floor is designated for the elderly and disabled, with 40 rooms available at a rental rate of 2,400 baht per month. Floors 2-4 have rental rates ranging from 2,100 to 2,500 baht per month, with a security deposit equivalent to one month's rent.

However, the rental project prioritizes state welfare cardholders, allowing them to rent first, in accordance with the Cabinet's resolution. Therefore, the criteria are divided into 4 groups:

Group 1: State welfare cardholders aged 50-59 and 60 years and older (elderly) as of the contract date, or disabled individuals.
Group 2: Non-state welfare cardholders aged 50-59 and 60 years and older (elderly) as of the contract date, or disabled individuals.

Group 3: State welfare cardholders aged 20-49 as of the contract date.
Group 4: General public or government officials.

Group 1 will have the first choice of living on the first floor, followed by Groups 2, 3, and 4, with a designated living ratio of 60% for state welfare cardholders and 40% for government officials and low-income citizens.

The Governor of the National Housing Authority further stated that the National Housing Authority is an agency with a primary mission to develop housing for low-income individuals across all target groups. There is a plan to construct 117,471 rental units under the 20-year housing development strategic plan (2017-2036) in line with the policy of General Prayuth Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister, who aims for all Thai people to have access to housing (Housing for all), and Mr. Juti Krairerk, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, who seeks to enhance the quality of life of citizens by providing housing in communities with good environments and safety for life and property.

Mr. Rachan Kamrang, 28, an online seller, explained his reason for renting in the Samut Sakhon project (Kratumban 3), stating that the location is good, accessible, and the project area is clean and safe, with CCTV cameras in every building and on every floor. Importantly, the rent is only 2,400 baht per month, compared to his current rent of 4,500 baht. Additionally, being close to the community allows him to invite his mother to live in the project, as the area is a community hub for business, improving their quality of life by enabling him to work and care for his mother.

Meanwhile, Ms. Mayuree Chimpleewat, 53, a fried meatball seller, mentioned that after visiting the Samut Sakhon rental project (Kratumban 3), she found the environment to be good, private, and safe, with CCTV cameras in every building and on every floor, along with 24-hour security. Moreover, the rent is lower than other projects, significantly reducing her expenses and improving her quality of life.
