Fiscal Policy Office Reports on Regional Economic Situation for the Week of November 19, 2021
The Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) reports on the regional economic situation (Regional Weekly) as of November 19, 2021:
(1) New registrations of trucks in October 2021 decreased by 45.4% year-on-year.
(2) Factories commencing operations in October 2021 had a total investment value of 5.859 billion baht, with significant capital concentrated in Bangkok and its vicinity, as well as the Eastern region.
The private investment economy is reflected in the significant decline in new truck registrations in the Eastern region and Bangkok and its vicinity. However, growth is still observed in other regions, while factories starting operations show high capital investment in Bangkok and its vicinity, as well as the Eastern region.

➢ In October 2021, new truck registrations totaled 6,315 units, a decrease of 45.4% year-on-year compared to the previous month (and when adjusted for seasonal effects, a decrease of 11.95% month-on-month). The details are as follows:
1) Central region grew by 11.0% year-on-year, with strong growth in Ang Thong, Saraburi, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.
2) Southern region grew by 9.6% year-on-year, with strong growth in Krabi, Surat Thani, and Pattani.
3) Northern region grew by 2.0% year-on-year, with good growth in Lamphun, Uthai Thani, and Phitsanulok.
4) Northeastern region grew by 1.0% year-on-year, with growth in Nong Bua Lam Phu, Khon Kaen, and Nakhon Ratchasima.
5) Western region grew by 0.5% year-on-year, with growth in Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, and Phetchaburi.
6) Eastern region decreased by 2.3% year-on-year but still showed growth in Trat, Chachoengsao, and Sa Kaeo.
7) Bangkok and its vicinity decreased by 75.8% year-on-year but still showed growth in Nakhon Pathom, Samut Prakan, and Nonthaburi.
➢ The capital of factories starting operations in October 2021 was valued at 5.859 billion baht, with investments distributed across several regions, particularly:
1) Bangkok and its vicinity had a capital value of 2.83076 billion baht, with investments in Samut Prakan amounting to 1.14205 billion baht, including 416 million baht for leather tanning factories and 185 million baht for automotive service centers, such as oil changes and car painting.
2) The Eastern region had a capital value of 1.52423 billion baht, with investments in Chonburi amounting to 863.60 million baht, including 239 million baht for non-hazardous waste recycling factories and 146.95 million baht for mixed feed or ready-to-eat animal food production factories, with similar investments in Prachinburi, focusing on plastic and metal parts manufacturing, such as TV components, amounting to 242 million baht.
