Bangkok has announced that restaurants can only serve takeout from 7 PM to 6 AM, starting tomorrow morning.

At 12 PM on January 4, 2021, Police Lieutenant Colonel Phongsakorn Kwanmuang, spokesperson for Bangkok, revealed that the Bangkok Communicable Disease Committee has decided that restaurants can only accept customers for takeout during the hours of 7 PM to 6 AM.

Outside of these hours, dining in restaurants is allowed, but strict measures must be in place. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the premises to reduce the time spent in gatherings. Customers will be screened, and social distancing of at least 1.5 meters must be maintained. Additional measures will be detailed later today.

This order will take effect from 6 AM tomorrow until further notice. Street food vendors in areas with relaxed regulations must also comply with this rule.
