"HOME dot TECH" organized the "Home Hackathon 2018", launching a Data Science workshop to gather ideas on "PropTech-LivingTech" from over 300 young participants, addressing the needs of consumers and entrepreneurs, with a total prize pool exceeding 100,000 baht. The winning teams are set to showcase their work to the real estate sector at the "Mega Home and Condo Expo 2018".

          Mr. Borisut Kasinpila, Managing Director of Home Buyer Guide Co., Ltd. and CEO and Founder of Home dot Tech Co., Ltd. stated that HOME dot TECH is a collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University and Home Buyer Guide Co., Ltd. The "Home Hackathon 2018" took place on July 14-15 and July 21-22, 2018, at the CU Innovation Hub at Chulalongkorn University, aimed at gathering ideas and innovations for developing technology in real estate (PropTech) and housing (LivingTech) from the perspective of the younger generation.

          "The objective and goal for the Home Hackathon 2018 project is to create a Recommendation System to make the search for housing projects easier and more convenient, accurately addressing consumer needs without errors, and analyzing consumer information-seeking behavior explained through Data Visualization to benefit entrepreneurs. We initially aimed for 120 participants, but over 300 registered for the event," Mr. Borisut said.

          Participants had the opportunity to attend Data Science workshops led by top Data Scientists in Thailand, including Mr. Sarawich Saengkhieowngam, Data Scientist from Agoda, Dr. Puriphan Rujikachorn, a lecturer at the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy at Chulalongkorn University, and faculty members from the Chula-Home Dot Tech project, such as Dr. Ekaphol Chuangsuvanit and Dr. Narumol Prathanvanit. They utilized data from the website Home.co.th, which currently features over 5,000 housing projects nationwide and receives more than 1,000,000 Unique Sessions (USS) per month.

          Mr. Borisut further stated that the team winning the Recommendation System category was Team Sleepy Coding, while the team winning the Data Visualization category was Team Paruruyeah! All winning teams received prizes totaling over 100,000 baht and the opportunity to present their work to real estate entrepreneurs and project sponsors, with a chance to showcase at the Mega Home and Condo Expo and Loan Fair 2018 from August 16-19 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

            The Home Hackathon 2018 marks the first Hackathon under HOME dot TECH, supported by leading real estate companies including AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited, Origin Property Public Company Limited, and SC Asset Corporation Public Company Limited.
