Emperor has announced the results of the home design competition under the campaign The PHENOMENON 'We Don't Just Build Houses, We Create Wonders' to celebrate its 30th anniversary and to seek out new designers with creative ideas that reflect new luxury lifestyles, competing for a total prize of over 300,000 Baht at the Southeast Asia Center (SEAC), FYI Center, Rama 4 Road recently.

Mr. Suratchai Koonghakij, CEO of Emperor House Co., Ltd. stated, "Thank you to everyone who showed interest in the home design competition The PHENOMENON 'We Don't Just Build Houses, We Create Wonders'. We have been in this business for 30 years, and we are pleased to have achieved another level of success. This campaign is the first time that Emperor has organized such an event to provide a platform for young talents to use their skills to create a phenomenon in luxury home design from a new perspective. After opening for applications for less than three weeks, we received an excellent response with over 100 submissions from students and designers. I must admit that every submission made it difficult for the committee to select only 10 finalists initially, resulting in a total of 12 finalists. Additionally, we had discussions to introduce the works of all 12 finalists to help them develop further and compete again in today's final round, where each submission was unique and outstanding. Congratulations to Mr. Krin Phraamanee for winning the first prize in this competition!"

"If you ask what my vision is today, it is to accept change, to step back and reflect on ourselves to continue developing. We shouldn't be obsessed with what we did in the past or be enamored with past successes. We need the new generation, like the 12 groups that made it to the finals today," he added.

According to Asst. Prof. Chai Narong Ariyaprasert, one of the judges, "Today we saw models of luxury as perceived by the new generation, which is about freedom in living and the liberty of being in those spaces. This has changed the design and space from before. Some works were very small yet stood out significantly, thinking differently from traditional luxury. The winner presented their work in an easily understandable manner, with elegance, reflecting the current attitude towards luxury models, which is a house with oversized spaces that attempts to integrate nature with luxury. This blending of traditional luxury with nature is likely what earned them the first place. In fact, the scores for the first and second place were very close, and all the works from the finalists can be further developed into real projects, showcasing 12 new creative concepts, each depending on individual preferences."

Winner Mr. Krin Phraamanee added, "I feel excited and very happy. The challenge of the The Phenomenon design task for a 'New Dimension Luxury Home' for me is to incorporate my preferences and identity. We need to consider who Emperor's users are and what luxury has meant for the past 30 years, and how we can extend Emperor's existing customer base into a new luxury perspective. I believe the success of this project comes from questioning what would happen if we tried something different from what has been done before, such as incorporating diagonal gardens. It’s about questioning architecture and finding the best answers until we achieve them. It also requires various skills. I will also try to integrate Tropical Modern elements, such as gardens that can be opened or closed for use, etc."

For the final round of the home design competition The PHENOMENON 'We Don't Just Build Houses, We Create Wonders', esteemed experts from various educational institutions, as well as leading architects and designers, served as judges, led by Asst. Prof. Sek Sawadee from Chulalongkorn University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Anthika Sawadsri from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Asst. Prof. Chai Narong Ariyaprasert from Silpakorn University, Mr. Thawan Wongswang from Rangsit University, and Mr. Chatree Trakulchawalit, Deputy Managing Director of Emperor House Co., Ltd.

In this event, the first prize of 100,000 Baht and the Popular Vote prize of 25,000 Baht went to Mr. Krin Phraamanee, 24 years old, from 25 Limited Architecture & Design Group. The first runner-up received 50,000 Baht, awarded to Mr. Pipat Sukjinda-sethi, 30 years old, a freelance designer. The second runner-up received 30,000 Baht, awarded to Mr. Wattanak Naksuk, 23 years old, and Mr. Kritsada Paepan, 24 years old, from Kasetsart University. Additionally, two consolation prizes of 15,000 Baht each were awarded to Mr. Nontakorn Jitjaipuri, 21 years old, from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and Mr. Rittichai Thatphithak, 25 years old, a freelance designer. There were also 7 consolation prizes of 8,000 Baht each for other finalists.
