Kasikornbank Launches SETESG Index-Linked Financial Innovation for the First Time in Thailand with IRPC as an Investor to Drive Sustainable Capital Markets
Kasikornbank has launched the "Bonus Structured Note," a new investment innovation linked to the sustainable stock index SETESG, marking the first of its kind in Thailand. IRPC has established a sustainability management strategy and is investing in this financial innovation to reflect the collaboration between the financial sector and industry in supporting investments that consider environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, while also promoting financial innovation and elevating the Thai capital market towards sustainable growth.
Mr. Thiti Tantikulanan, Executive Vice President of Capital Markets at Kasikornbank, stated that the bank is committed to becoming a leader in sustainability in the ASEAN region and in promoting and developing financial innovations. In the past, the bank has contributed to sustainability by creating new financial innovations related to ESG in the financial market. This time, the bank has developed an additional financial innovation by issuing the Bonus Structured Note, which is linked to the SETESG index for the first time in Thailand. The funds raised will be allocated to the bank's environmental projects under a sustainable lending and investment target of 400-500 billion baht by 2030, to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy effectively. The bank will disclose details of fund allocation and environmental impact in its annual report.

Ms. Tosang Chaiprawat, Deputy Managing Director of Accounting and Finance at IRPC Public Company Limited, emphasized that the company prioritizes financial management alongside sustainable business operations by incorporating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into investment decision-making to ensure long-term stability and growth.
“IRPC is pleased to invest in the Bonus Structured Note under Kasikornbank's sustainability finance framework, which links returns to the SETESG index that reflects the potential of publicly listed companies operating sustainably. This collaboration marks another significant step in developing ESG financial innovations in Thailand and supports the sustainable growth of the Thai capital market,” she added.
The Bonus Structured Note being issued and offered this time is special as its returns are linked to the SETESG index, which reflects the price movements of securities from companies that operate sustainably. Investors will receive additional returns if the SETESG index rises according to the specified criteria. The bank is pleased to be part of promoting the Thai capital market through the issuance of products related to the SETESG index to increase its recognition widely.
