Ms. Kotsakorn Tojaroenthanaphol, Deputy Director of Project Management at Informa Markets Thailand, the organizer of ProPak Asia 2024, which will take place from June 12 to 15, 2024, at the BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangna, highlighted the positive trends in Thailand's manufacturing sector and the continuous positive export figures since late 2023. In October alone, exports grew by 8%, the highest in 13 months, suggesting that exports in 2024 could increase by approximately 2%. The food sector remains a key player, with Thailand ranking as the 12th largest food exporter in the world in 2023. The Office of Industrial Economics (OIE) estimates that the Industrial Production Index (MPI) and GDP for the industrial sector in 2024 will grow by 2.0-3.0%.

The food products expected to see significant growth include frozen and chilled fruits, seafood, canned tuna, and frozen shrimp. Additionally, there is a rising trend in health foods, specialty foods, halal foods, and high-quality processed foods, which is also driving growth in the packaging industry. In 2023, the packaging industry was valued at 1.10 trillion dollars and is projected to grow to 1.33 trillion dollars by 2028, fueled by the growth of the food and beverage industry, environmentally friendly materials, and the shift towards flexible packaging. These positive signals are beneficial for the entire Thai manufacturing sector. ProPak Asia continues to be a vital event that fosters and enhances the regional business and industrial ecosystem. ProPak Asia 2023 marked a rapid recovery from the COVID-19 situation, with 1,800 exhibitors from 45 countries and over 58,555 attendees from 75 countries worldwide.
