WHA Group and Over 80 Partners Host WeCYCLE DAY to Reinforce Sustainable Business Practices
The WHA Corporation Public Company Limited, in collaboration with the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited, SCG Packaging Public Company Limited, and over 80 partners, organized the WeCYCLE DAY event at the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Rayong for the second consecutive year. This initiative emphasizes their commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices, as well as promoting social welfare and quality of life in all aspects.

This year, the project received support from various companies and organizations within the WeCYCLE group through initiatives such as “WeCYCLE Wants Your Bottles” and “WeCYCLE Wants Your Old Paper.” These efforts focused on collecting and sorting plastic bottles and paper to be recycled into economically valuable products, thereby enhancing the quality of life in the surrounding areas of the industrial estate and promoting environmental conservation equivalent to planting over 15,000 trees. The plastic bottles (PET) collected from the project will be managed and collected at designated clean plastic drop-off points, facilitated by “GC YOUturn” from PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), to be used as raw materials for producing plastic fibers, alongside water hyacinth fibers from wastewater treatment facilities in the WHA Corporation's industrial estate, which will be made into bags for students in the surrounding areas and beautiful upcycled products.

The paper collected from the project will be managed, gathered, and transported by members of the WeCYCLE group, with SCG Packaging Public Company Limited overseeing the recycling process and repurposing it into educational products for students in the surrounding areas of the industrial estate.
As a token of appreciation for participating in this initiative, WHA Corporation Public Company Limited awarded certificates made from recycled materials to 80 WeCYCLE partners. Additionally, they presented trophies made from recycled materials to the top five partner companies with the highest contributions of used plastic bottles (PET) and used paper, calculated based on the equivalent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions as follows:
