"Department of Business Development" Partners with "Siam Commercial Bank" to Elevate Community Stores into the Digital World, Enhancing Knowledge and Expanding Business

"Department of Business Development" collaborates with "Siam Commercial Bank" to support and assist community store operators across Thailand. Recently, they have elevated community entrepreneurs into the digital world, covering local Thai product stores (Smart Local), model communities (Smart Village), and Smart convenience stores by applying digital technology to enhance the potential and competitiveness of community operators in the new online business era. They also offer financial products and organize promotional activities and knowledge-sharing sessions for community stores, focusing on four key areas:
- Transforming stores into a cashless environment with comprehensive payment support tools (Digital Payment) through the Mamanee application.
- Knowledge enhancement activities to expand businesses and create value for community products.
- Loans for business expansion for both small and large enterprises.
- Expanding marketing channels through the bank's Social Media, with a special promotion for community product stores that register for the new Mamanee application from now until April 30, 2022, receiving a premium set from Mamanee for free!

Mr. Tosapol Thangsabut, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, stated, "In light of the COVID-19 pandemic that has impacted all sectors, the Department of Business Development continues to assist community operators under the concept of 'SMART LOCAL by DBD.' We have organized various projects and activities in collaboration with leading organizations nationwide to help and support Thai community operators adapt to the digital era while expanding sales channels to increase their income. Recently, we have partnered with 'Siam Commercial Bank' to elevate products into the digital world, covering local Thai product stores (Smart Local), model communities (Smart Village), and Smart convenience stores by applying digital technology alongside financial products and various activities from Siam Commercial Bank to enhance the potential and competitiveness of community operators in online business. This collaboration aims to promote a cashless society in line with current consumer behavior, and we hope it will stimulate the local economy while boosting employment in the community."

- Transforming stores into a cashless environment with comprehensive payment support tools (Digital Payment) accepting payments via QR codes, supporting credit/debit cards, and installment payments through the Mamanee application, while expanding into online stores with "Manee Social Commerce."
- Knowledge enhancement activities to expand businesses and create value for community products, preparing small operators to effectively engage in E-commerce.
- Loans for business expansion for both small and large enterprises, increasing access to funding sources for business continuity.
- Expanding marketing channels to increase sales for Smart Local stores selling online, as well as having physical stores and accepting payments through the Mamanee application, gaining wider recognition through the bank's Social Media channels.
