BAANDY has launched a new platform called 'BAANDY Terminal' to connect offline and online, creating a new retail system for construction materials. This one-stop service emphasizes understanding customer behavior through real-time purchase history, allowing for stock management, accounting, and accurate data collection with high security. The initial response is positive, with expectations of 500 stores adopting the system in the first phase, aiming to expand to 3,000 stores nationwide. An investment of 60 million baht is allocated for further platform development, with a revenue target of 400 million baht for 2022.

Mr. Nattawat Phanthukornkaveewut, CEO of The Baandy Co., Ltd., which develops the BAANDY application for comprehensive buying and selling of construction materials and Thai craftsmanship, revealed that after launching the BAANDY Application in 2021, the company received a positive response with over 6,000 sales items. This prompted the recognition of changing buyer and seller behaviors.

BAANDY is committed to enhancing the efficiency of the buying and selling system, making it convenient for buyers nationwide, as well as for businesses using the platform to expand their customer base online. This led to the development of the 'BAANDY Terminal', a new operating system for retail and online sales, designed to meet the needs of construction material stores looking to integrate O2O (Online to Offline) systems.

The goal is to leverage technology to transform the construction materials trading industry by connecting local stores from offline to a fully online system, making it easier for construction material stores to manage their retail operations through a one-stop service that connects in-store sales with real-time online sales.

BAANDY Terminal can access and understand customer behavior in-depth through purchase history, timing of purchases, and popular items in real-time. This backend system will help stores check stock levels, manage inventory, and accounting, with data analyzed to create marketing plans and promotions that attract customers, presenting products that meet their precise needs. Importantly, data will be stored on iCloud, ensuring high security, making it ideal for stores in the digital age that sell products through both online and physical channels, reducing errors and increasing sales opportunities for construction material stores, enabling them to consider expanding their business or creating various benefits.

It is believed that BAANDY Terminal will receive positive feedback from construction material stores, with a target of approximately 500 stores using the system this year. Currently, over 100 stores in the northeastern region have shown interest. The investment for stores wishing to install the BAANDY Terminal platform is expected to range from 1,000 to 5,000 baht per month, with special pricing for annual subscriptions.

"The company is committed to continuous innovation through technology investment to meet the rapidly changing demands of consumers, making the buying and selling of construction materials as easy and convenient as possible, enhancing the competitive potential of construction material stores within the network to compete with expanding modern trade stores through the 'BAANDY Terminal' platform," said Mr. Nattawat.

For the company's business plan this year, it continues to expand the market, estimating the total construction materials market value at 500 billion baht, with expected growth of about 3-5% from the previous year. Although the Covid-19 situation impacted last year, this year Thailand has better access to vaccines, leading to increased demand for spending, alongside continuous strategic adjustments by construction businesses.

Additionally, the company has visited over 2,300 construction material stores, with more than 900 stores in the eastern and northeastern regions ready to sell products through the BAANDY application. The company aims to build confidence among these 900 existing stores, enabling them to proficiently use the operational database and expand their business further.

Furthermore, there are plans to expand the number of stores on the BAANDY application to a target of 3,000 stores nationwide, focusing this year on expanding coverage in the eastern region, with plans to extend customer bases in the upper northeastern region and Bangkok and its vicinity.

The investment budget for this year is set at 50-60 million baht to develop the platform according to annual targets, with a focus on increasing promotional offers on new products with discounts ranging from 10-90% through random products and timing, aiming to encourage buyers to frequently access the application and enjoy the benefits.

The company targets a revenue of 400 million baht for 2022, with revenue proportions from the platform at 40%, advertising at 15%, operational systems at 25%, delivery at 15%, and other income at 5%. Additionally, the company aims to offer over 40,000 construction materials and home-related products for customers to choose from, up from the current 15,000 items.
