“BTS Skytrain” has launched a trial for the “Saint Louis Station” on February 8, attracting 12,000 users, with Bangkok set to implement new fare rates of 15-104 Baht starting February 16.

On February 6, 2021, Mr. Sumit Srisanthittham, the Director of Operations, conducted fire drill training and evacuation exercises in case of a fire at the Skytrain station, in preparation for the trial opening of the Saint Louis Skytrain station on February 8, 2021. This will bring the total number of BTS stations to 60, and there will be no additional fare charges for the new station as it is part of the originally planned route.

 

The ”Saint Louis Station” is located midway between the Chong Nonsi Station (S3) and Surasak Station (S5) on Sathorn Road, at the entrance of Soi Sathorn 12, in front of UOB Bank's headquarters and Ascott Hotel, within the Bang Rak and Sathorn districts.

Surrounding the station are several large buildings, condominiums, and educational institutions. According to estimates from consulting firms, the construction of this station is expected to increase daily trips by approximately 9,500-12,000 and generate an additional 94 million Baht in annual fare revenue for BTS.

 

On February 16, the BTS will implement new fare rates ranging from 15 to 104 Baht, as announced by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) on January 15, 2021.
