GPF Expands Investment Options for Members with Launch of Thai Real Estate Fund, Starting July 31, 2020
The Government Pension Fund (GPF) has introduced a new investment plan, providing members with more options for managing their savings, particularly for those who wish to self-manage their investment proportions and can tolerate higher investment volatility.
Mr. Boonlert Anprasertporn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Operations Group and Acting Secretary-General of the GPF Board, announced that GPF is enhancing investment options for its members. As of July 31, 2020, it has launched the Thai Real Estate Fund, which allocates 100% of its assets to investments in Thai real estate mutual funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), and Thai infrastructure funds registered on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. This will create opportunities for targeted returns from investments in the real estate sector. However, this investment plan carries risks, as the net asset value (NAV) may decline in line with the Thai stock market and other factors affecting the real estate business in which the investments are made.
The Thai Real Estate Fund is therefore suitable for members who understand investment concepts and can accept a relatively high level of risk. Members can self-manage their investment proportions alongside other investment plans, such as money market plans, bond plans, and Thai equity plans, to align with their expected return goals and acceptable risk levels.

Currently, members can submit requests to select or change their investment plans up to four times a year through four channels: 1. My GPF Application 2. My GPF Website 3. Sending documents to GPF by filling out the investment selection or change request form, and 4. The website www.gpf.or.th. GPF recommends that members conduct a self-assessment of their investment risk before selecting an investment plan each time.
