Treasury Urges Thousands to Collect Welfare Cards Before Losing Rights!
On February 9, 2019, Ms. Sutthirat Rattanachoti, Director-General of the Comptroller General's Department, announced that the second round of state welfare cards has been distributed through the Thai Sustainable Development team, reaching 3 million recipients. Approximately 2.93 million eligible individuals have received their state welfare cards, which accounts for 96.54% of all eligible recipients. However, there are still over 100,000 individuals who have not collected their cards. They can do so from now until February 28, 2019. Those in regional areas who have not yet collected their cards must do so at their local district offices, while those in Bangkok must collect theirs at the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration office.
If individuals do not collect their cards by March 1, 2019, they will need to go to the provincial treasury office or the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration office at their registered address. Cards can be collected until December 20, 2019. If not collected within this timeframe, the rights will be forfeited. To collect the card, eligible individuals must present their national ID card in person. If someone else is collecting the card on their behalf, a power of attorney must be provided along with the original national ID card of the eligible individual, the ID of the authorized person, and copies of both IDs signed as certified true copies. Everyone collecting a card must sign to confirm receipt.
