National Housing Authority Supports Ministry of Social Development Policy to Help Thais Own Homes with Discounts Up to 20%
The National Housing Authority (NHA) is advancing the policy of Minister of Social Development and Human Security, Mr. Nikorn Somkhan, aimed at ensuring housing security and improving the quality of life for citizens. They have launched the campaign "NHA Helps Thais: Easy Purchase, Comfortable Payment," offering ready-to-move-in housing across more than 69 projects nationwide, including 37 affordable housing projects, with discounts of up to 20% and loan benefits to enhance opportunities for the public, especially low-income individuals, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable groups, to access quality housing at reasonable prices.
Mr. Nikorn Somkhan emphasizes the importance of creating housing security, which is a fundamental factor in improving quality of life and reducing social inequality. He has instructed the NHA to expedite measures to assist citizens in owning their homes more easily through housing price reductions, special interest rates, and increased options for loans and hire-purchase agreements, ensuring equitable access to housing for all groups.

Mr. Thaveepong Vichaidit, Governor of the National Housing Authority, stated that the NHA is implementing the Minister's policy concretely through the campaign "NHA Helps Thais: Easy Purchase, Comfortable Payment," with a tiered special interest rate structure: 0% interest for the first year, 2.50% for years 2-3, 4.00% for years 4-5, 6.50% for years 6-10, and 6.75% for years 11-40.
Additionally, individuals who have been denied loans from commercial banks can directly enter into hire-purchase agreements with the NHA. There is also an opportunity for hire-purchase customers who wish to reduce their debt burden to request a higher monthly payment than specified to close their accounts faster. Furthermore, there is an exemption from credit bureau checks for affordable housing projects, community housing (for low-income individuals), social housing development projects, and projects along the electric train route at Prachanivet 3 (Parts 1 and 2), where eligibility will be assessed based on Credit Score as appropriate. This campaign is open for participation from today until September 30, 2026.

The Governor of the National Housing Authority further stated that tenants in NHA projects can convert to hire-purchase agreements (Walk-in) with a deposit of only 1,000 Baht for social projects like affordable housing and community housing for low-income individuals, while commercial projects require a deposit of 5,000 Baht, and projects along the electric train route at Prachanivet 3 require a deposit of 10,000 Baht, all with a special interest rate of just 2.50% in the first year.
All projects participating in the campaign will be renovated and repaired to be ready for occupancy before delivery. Alternatively, if buyers wish to make their own improvements, they can choose to receive a discount on the selling price equivalent to the repair costs under specified conditions, providing more options and helping to reduce the financial burden on citizens.
This campaign not only facilitates easier home ownership for Thais but also drives the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security's policy to create housing security, reduce inequality, and enhance the quality of life for citizens, while also contributing to the stimulation of the real estate sector and the sustainable economy of the country.
