Britania has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) to promote the use of water-saving devices, which will be installed in Britania's housing projects located in prime areas.

Mr. Navin Leknava, Chief Executive Officer of Britania Public Company Limited, a leader in property development, stated that the company operates under principles of good governance and is committed to sustainable development. The company emphasizes the importance of balancing business growth, social responsibility, and environmental preservation. As a property developer, we believe that true development means not only creating quality housing but also fostering environmentally friendly living patterns that can sustainably pass on a good quality of life to future generations. Under our sustainability policy, Britania prioritizes effective water resource management by establishing clear operational guidelines, goals, and indicators for both the short and long term to promote the efficient and beneficial use of resources, aligning with PWA's goals of driving sustainable and socially responsible water resource use.

In 2026, the company plans to install PWA's water-saving devices, which meet green label standards or equivalent, in 9 housing projects, totaling over 2,000 households. This initiative aims to reduce water consumption, lower living costs for residents, and raise awareness about the value of water resources. It marks the beginning of creating tangible positive outcomes for residents, communities, and the environment, serving as a model for collaboration between the public and private sectors in driving the country towards sustainability.

Mr. Chakrapong Kamchan, Governor of the Provincial Waterworks Authority, stated that Thailand is currently facing challenges regarding water resources due to the continuously increasing demand for water driven by population growth and housing expansion. At the same time, the country is dealing with drought issues, the depletion of natural water sources, and the need to raise widespread awareness about the value of water use.

The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) initiated the Demand Side Management (DSM) project in 2021 to promote and support the use of water-saving devices in households, alongside fostering a mindset among the public to use water efficiently and sustainably.

Over the past years, PWA has collaborated with the private sector in the real estate business nationwide to integrate effective water use practices from the design and construction phases of housing projects. From 2021 to 2025, a total of 87 projects have participated in this initiative.

For 2026, PWA plans to continue expanding its collaboration, aiming to implement an additional 35 projects nationwide to promote the efficient use of water resources and ensure long-term sustainability of water resources in the country,” Mr. Chakrapong said.

This signing of the memorandum of understanding marks another significant step in promoting the value of water use and advancing the implementation of water-saving devices in housing projects. It reflects a commitment to responsible water resource management and a joint effort to conserve water resources for the long term, enhancing quality of life and creating a sustainable society for the future.
