Minor Hotels to Launch Anantara Brand in the United States with First Flagship Project in Miami
Minor Hotels, a global leader in the hospitality business with over 640 hotels, resorts, and residences in 63 countries, has announced the launch of the Anantara Miami Resort & Residences, marking the first entry of the luxury brand focused on creating exceptional experiences into the United States. This 650-foot tall building overlooking Biscayne Bay will serve as a landmark highlighting a significant moment in the group's global expansion and will present a new urban lifestyle emphasizing immersive experiences, cultural connections, and holistic health. The project is developed in collaboration with One Thousand Group and will be located at the intersection of Edgewater, Design District, and Wynwood in Miami, becoming the first building in the area to offer unobstructed views of Biscayne Bay. It is expected to open in 2030.

The project will feature 100 private residences and 120 resort residences, allowing owners to host hotel guests in their residences. Additionally, there will be 50 hotel suites equipped with unprecedented vitality and longevity amenities in the Miami market, integrating traditional health practices with modern concepts. Anantara Miami Resort & Residences is designed to be more than just a typical branded residence, aiming to be a comprehensive lifestyle destination that combines hotel services, ownership living, and health care, reflecting the new era of living that prioritizes experiences and flexibility.

William E. Heinecke, founder and chairman of Minor International, the parent company of Anantara Hotels, stated, "True luxury is time, the freedom to pause, discover new things, and experience life deeply. Miami is the perfect destination for launching the Anantara brand in the United States. We are thrilled to partner with One Thousand Group to bring these visions to life." Under Anantara's experience-driven service concept, this project is designed to be an oasis in the city, addressing urban living needs focused on rejuvenating both body and mind, featuring a vitality center emphasizing movement, nutrition, and recovery, alongside holistic health programs inspired by traditional Thai medicine that blend traditional and modern medicine with longevity concepts, truly elevating health care in Miami.

Kevin Venger, co-founder of One Thousand Group, remarked, "Anantara Miami Resort & Residences offers something truly new to the U.S. market, not just a branded residence but a concept that fully integrates service, ownership living, and health care."
This project also assembles a world-class design team, with architecture by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the firm behind many iconic buildings such as One Vanderbilt in New York, in collaboration with ODP Architecture & Design, and interior design by Patricia Urquiola, marking her first residential project in the United States. Building on One Thousand Group's experience in developing luxury projects in Miami, this project follows previous works like One Thousand Museum, the last residential building designed by Zaha Hadid, and the Villa Miami project.
To reflect the visionary outlook of the project owners, the building will include additional amenities such as a private rooftop helipad for convenient travel to Florida Keys, Palm Beach, and the Bahamas. It will also offer carefully curated service experiences and be located in an accessible area surrounded by restaurants, galleries, boutiques, and leading cultural institutions in Miami, such as the Pérez Art Museum, Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
Michael Konig, co-founder of One Thousand Group, added, "We aim to develop groundbreaking projects that have never been seen before in Miami. For Anantara, we see an opportunity to bring this global brand into a market ready for deeper and more meaningful experiences."
"We focus on conveying our unique experiences and amenities while seamlessly integrating the identity of our partner brands to create a project that truly reflects both our distinctiveness and the essence of the brand," said Louis Birdman, co-founder of One Thousand Group.
This project is set to launch sales this year, with One Sotheby’s International Realty appointed as the exclusive sales agent. Anantara Miami Resort & Residences represents another significant strategic step for Minor Hotels in expanding its business into the U.S. market.
