Minor Hotels has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Tourism Development Fund to develop leading hotel and lifestyle projects, focusing on mountain resorts, wellness resorts, and urban hotels across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The first project is expected to launch in the second half of 2023.

Mr. Dilip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and CEO of Minor International Group stated that Minor Hotels will develop hotel and resort projects under its main brands, including Anantara, Avani, Tivoli, and Oaks, in various cities as agreed upon by both parties. Each location will enhance the uniqueness of its city, aligning with the National Tourism Strategy (NTS) and Saudi Vision 2030. The projects will be situated in key target cities within the tourism industry strategy, which will be announced soon.

“The Saudi Tourism Development Fund (TDF) is an agency that supports tourism investment in the Kingdom and helps connect private investors with funding opportunities. Established in 2020, TDF seeks opportunities and develops funds to support the tourism ecosystem and attractions within the country,”
The projects under this joint agreement will feature luxury brands such as “Anantara,” known for providing meaningful experiences and heartfelt service, with a strong Thai heritage recognized in the Middle East.

Additionally, the “Avani” brand, a contemporary hotel and resort brand, will also launch in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing value paired with comfort. Currently, Avani hotels and resorts are operational in the United Arab Emirates and Oman, with a project in Bahrain expected to open by 2024.
Meanwhile, the “Tivoli” brand is distinguished by creating unique authentic experiences with outstanding amenities and innovations, along with excellent service.

The “Oaks Hotels, Resorts and Suites” brand will offer accommodations under the concept of a second home, ‘home away from home,’ catering to business and leisure travelers.
Mr. Kusai Al-Faqih, CEO of the Saudi Tourism Development Fund stated that the signing of the agreement and the announcement of collaboration with Minor Hotels as a forthcoming business partner marks a significant step towards making Saudi Arabia a global tourism destination. We are proud to launch various projects under the international brands of Minor Hotels in our Kingdom, which will bring both prestige and interest to the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia.
