AssetWise Elevates Livable Cities with the “Happy Toilet Project” Design Contest Inviting Thais to Showcase Ideas for Transforming Public Restrooms into Accessible Spaces of Happiness
AssetWise is enhancing spaces of happiness for livable cities by organizing the “Happy Toilet Project” design contest, inviting designers, the general public, and students to create designs for “restrooms that bring joy to everyone.” This initiative aims to transform Thailand's public restrooms into beautiful, clean, safe, and user-friendly spaces that are accessible and sustainable for all, with a total prize pool of 260,000 Baht.

Mr. Kramchat Wiphanpong, Chief Executive Officer of AssetWise Public Company Limited (ASW), a leading real estate development company focused on lifestyle, under the concept of “Happiness Designed for You” or “We Build Happiness,” stated that the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasize the importance of ensuring everyone has access to clean water and standard sanitation systems (Clean Water and Sanitation) as a global agenda to enhance public health. Restrooms are a crucial component of sanitation infrastructure that reflects the quality of life of the population and is a factor indicating the livability of a city in terms of hygiene and well-being.
With this concept, AssetWise aims to contribute to enhancing the happiness quality of society through the design contest “Happy Toilet Project” under the theme “Restrooms that Bring Joy to Everyone.” This initiative provides an opportunity for professional designers, independent designers, the general public, and students who are passionate about design and public service to create prototypes of public restrooms that are clean, safe, and can be implemented by various agencies as construction or installation models in public areas across the country, such as parks, nature reserves, temples, schools, and government/local agencies, ensuring equal access for all ages.

“Restrooms may seem like small spaces, but they reflect the quality of life and directly impact the happiness of users. Clean, safe, and convenient restrooms for everyone are a reflection of a city that cares about details and values its people equally. On the occasion of our 20th anniversary, AssetWise aims to be a force in delivering tangible happiness to Thai society by promoting the enhancement of public restrooms to be beautiful, safe, and functional for everyone. We believe that good restrooms are fundamental to livable cities and help fulfill the happiness of people in society,” Mr. Kramchat stated.
The “Happy Toilet Project” contest is honored to have a panel of esteemed judges, including representatives from the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage, the Association of Thai Interior Designers, the Association of Landscape Architects of Thailand, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), and judges from AssetWise to participate in the evaluation process.
