Mr. Saransak Srikrueanetr, Governor of Phuket, stated that Phuket, in collaboration with government agencies and the private sector, organizes the Phuket Vegetarian Festival as a joint host. This festival has been passed down for generations and is recognized as one of the most exciting cultural phenomena in the world, attracting travelers from all over to experience the strong faith of the people of Phuket. For nine days and nights during the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, Phuket transforms into a metropolis of faith, with thousands of people strictly observing the precepts and abstaining from meat to purify their bodies and minds. This is amidst globally impactful phenomena such as the “Iew Keng” rituals and the astonishing displays of “spirit mediums,” a festival of sound and color featuring grand processions from various shrines, highlighted by the lighting of millions of firecrackers that resonate throughout the city. The uniqueness and historical value of this festival led UNESCO to designate Phuket as a member of the Creative Cities of Gastronomy network on December 11, 2015, with a total of 18 cities worldwide, making Phuket the first in ASEAN, enhancing its image as a global cultural hub. Currently, the Phuket Vegetarian Festival, or Jae Chai, generates immense economic and tourism value, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually while raising awareness about plant-based food in the region, affirming that pure and strong faith can create great power for both the community and the world.

Mr. Uthai Uthaisangsuak, CEO of Sansiri Public Company Limited, revealed that Sansiri and Thai Commercial Bank continue to uphold the tradition of the Vegetarian Festival for the 13th year, a festival that the people of Phuket take pride in and has been passed down for over 200 years, reinforcing their commitment to grow together with the community (Inclusive Growth). This year, they aim to be part of this valuable tradition under the theme 'Goodness, Sustainability, Never Ending'. “Over the years, we have believed in the power of small acts of goodness that can create great change through sharing and passing on the culture of vegetarianism, which not only fulfills the spirit but also connects people and communities more closely. We are committed to creating good things together with those around us so that these values can grow alongside Thai society sustainably. This year, Sansiri and Thai Commercial Bank invite Sansiri residents in Phuket, Thai Commercial Bank customers, business partners, and employees to volunteer and be part of this important tradition, preparing for the Vegetarian Festival from October 21 to 29, 2025, with a joint effort to clean five major temples: Jui Tui Shrine, Bang Niew Shrine, Sam Kong Shrine, Kathu Shrine, and Sarm Ong Hoo Shrine in Cherng Talay. Additionally, this year marks the first time that Sansiri will set up a table to welcome the gods for the “Iew Keng” procession and invites residents to participate in a cleanup activity at the end of the Jui Tui Shrine's vegetarian festival procession on October 27, 2025, to maintain cleanliness and promote sustainability in Phuket, while also acting as a voice to promote the Phuket Vegetarian Festival, which has a history of over 200 years, to Sansiri's international customers, both Thai and global, encouraging travel to Phuket to participate in the festival and boost tourism,” Mr. Uthai stated.

Mr. Surapong Bumrungpara, Assistant Managing Director of Direct Sales Channels at Thai Commercial Bank, commented on this collaboration, stating, “Thai Commercial Bank reinforces its role as more than just a financial institution by promoting community sustainability through the preservation of valuable traditions. This year, the bank has partnered with Sansiri to continue supporting the Phuket Vegetarian Festival for the 13th year to maintain and preserve the unique local culture alongside Thai society. In addition to supporting activities at various shrines, the bank has also expanded its collaboration through the “SCB Doing Good Together” project to create a space for sharing and public spirit. This not only instills the values of doing good among employees nationwide but also opens opportunities for the bank's customers to participate as volunteers in true community development. Our commitment goes beyond just preserving traditions; it reflects the bank's role in building a strong society while driving the economy. The bank stands ready to support customers as a trusted financial partner throughout their lives, while also creating a positive impact on society, culture, and the Thai economy sustainably.”

“Sansiri and Thai Commercial Bank wish to be part of spreading goodness and growing together with the community, thus collaborating with “YAYEE,” a local brand from Phuket, led by Mr. Phum-Pongpivich Thuaithai, a second-generation heir with the vision of creating value and developing business for the community, resulting in the “Faith Project.” This project features the design of special Chinese fans, given as heartfelt gifts to Sansiri residents participating in the temple cleaning this year. This gift is not just a tool for cooling but has been elevated to a talisman that combines two symbols of prosperity into one, inspired by the Fenghuang bird, a legendary auspicious creature symbolizing prosperity and honor for the Peranakan people since ancient times, surrounded by peony flowers, the “queen of flowers,” symbolizing timeless beauty that brings good luck, wealth, and prosperity to the owner every time it blooms. Even more special, the fans will have tassels made from leftover batik fabric produced by female inmates and various community groups. This special fan thus brings both auspiciousness and prosperity to the recipient while providing livelihoods to the producers,” concluded Mr. Uthai and Mr. Surapong.
