PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) marks its 40th anniversary, emphasizing its strong commitment to ensuring energy security for the nation by continuously seeking energy sources both domestically and internationally to meet the energy demands of the country and its people. This dedication over four decades is conveyed through the new song 'Power of Power' performed by artists Toon Athiwara and Ally Achiraya, aimed at empowering everyone.

Mr. Montree Lawanchaikul, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), stated that 40 years ago, the government envisioned Thailand's ability to explore, develop, and produce petroleum independently, enhancing the country's energy self-sufficiency and security. This vision marked the inception of PTTEP, established on June 20, 1985, as a spin-off from PTT. The assigned mission was a significant challenge, as at that time, Thai companies faced limitations in knowledge, expertise, experience, technology, and investment. Thus, they had to begin learning, training, and gaining experience in all aspects to effectively fulfill their responsibilities.

Starting in 1985, PTTEP entered a joint venture in the S1 project (Sirikit Field) with international oil companies, producing approximately 5,000 barrels per day, which was the crude oil volume received according to the joint venture's share at that time. Over the past four decades, PTTEP has expanded its operations in exploration, development, and production to over 50 projects in 13 countries worldwide, with a total production rate of approximately 700,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day from projects in Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Algeria, and more.

In Thailand, PTTEP produces about 82% of the total natural gas output in the country, primarily from the G1/61, G2/61, and Arthit projects in the Gulf of Thailand. These projects serve as a key energy source driving the country's economy, providing fuel for electricity generation across various sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications, technology, healthcare, education, and daily life. The natural gas from the Gulf of Thailand also contains components used as raw materials in the petrochemical industry, which can generate significant added value. The petroleum exploration and production industry in Thailand has also contributed substantial revenue to the country through royalties, petroleum income tax, profit-sharing from production-sharing contracts, special compensation payments, and other income, including revenues from the Thailand-Malaysia Joint Development Area, to support various national development initiatives. Since its establishment until 2024, PTTEP has contributed over 891 billion baht in revenue, including corporate income tax, to the government.

Being the operator of significant petroleum fields both in the Gulf of Thailand and onshore is a source of great pride for PTTEP, as it continues to fulfill its mission of enhancing energy security in line with the company's founding principles. PTTEP is committed to advancing this mission vigorously while expanding operations both domestically and internationally, developing cleaner petroleum production, supporting greenhouse gas emission reductions in production processes, and implementing Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology, along with increasing green spaces by planting 200,000 rai of forest. Additionally, PTTEP is exploring new energy forms for future sustainability.

Alongside its pursuit of energy sources, PTTEP is dedicated to promoting social, community, and environmental well-being through various projects and activities aimed at sustainable development. For instance, the 'Ocean for Life' project helps balance marine ecosystems, create jobs, and increase income for communities in 17 provinces around the Gulf of Thailand. PTTEP also continuously supports basic needs, education, environmental initiatives, and cultural activities for communities in its operational areas.

'The commitment to ensuring energy security by PTTEP over the past four decades is akin to the Power of Power, which drives the nation's energy forward and supports everyone in accomplishing their missions and goals. PTTEP itself is a product of the collective strength of all sectors that have supported the company throughout its 40-year journey, including the government, PTT, stakeholders, executives, and employees across all eras. I believe that all PTTEP employees take pride in fulfilling this role and will continue to advance this mission to the best of their abilities,' Mr. Montree stated.

On this 40th anniversary, PTTEP has produced the song 'Power of Power,' featuring two energetic artists from different generations, Toon Athiwara and Ally Achiraya, who convey the power and meaning of being a source of strength for everyone. The music video can be viewed on YouTube: PTTEP Official (https://www.youtube.com/@pttepofficial) starting June 13 at 5:00 PM onwards.

Toon Athiwara expressed that getting to know PTTEP has deepened his understanding of the importance of energy for both individuals and the nation. Thailand is fortunate to be able to discover and produce its own energy, sustaining our lives every day without shortage. It is a familiar force that we may not know the origins of, yet it indirectly empowers us to achieve our desires and intentions. When energy combines with a willing spirit, it creates the power of power, enabling us to move forward and fulfill our goals.

Meanwhile, Ally Achiraya added that she feels the phrase 'Power of Power' represents mutual support. Regardless of profession or activity, having support from others, such as parents, songwriters, producers, and teams, helps clarify our paths to our goals. Participating in this song has made her aware of the origins of the energy we use constantly, which is another form of support that allows us to live, study, work, and pursue our dreams fully.
