Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), a Thai real estate developer focused on comprehensive lifestyle solutions, has partnered with Arun Plus Company Limited, part of the PTT Group, to sign a collaboration agreement to open electric vehicle charging stations (EV Charging Stations) under the on-ion brand across all 17 AWC properties, with over 50 charging points to be established this year. These stations will cover major tourist cities and will include both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) chargers with a maximum power output of 100 kilowatts, catering to the clean energy travel lifestyle and supporting the rapid growth of the electric vehicle industry in Thailand while promoting sustainable tourism throughout the journey to the destination.
Naowalapa Traisorat, CEO and Managing Director of Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), stated, “AWC is committed to supporting sustainable tourism by collaborating with the PTT Group to align our business operations with a shared vision of promoting clean energy use to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve carbon neutrality. We aim to enhance sustainability and improve the environment for our planet. Given the rapid growth of the electric vehicle market in Thailand, AWC is pleased to partner with leaders in clean energy and the comprehensive electric vehicle business (EV Value Chain) to establish charging points under the on-ion brand across AWC properties in key tourist cities, including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. The first charging points will begin to open in Q2, marking a significant step in AWC’s business operations and investment in future clean energy innovations, providing convenience for electric vehicle users to travel without concerns about charging, and offering a comprehensive sustainable travel experience.”
Chirdchai Boonchuchuay, Deputy Managing Director of Innovation and New Business at PTT Public Company Limited, stated, “The PTT Group aims to expand its electric vehicle charging station network under the on-ion brand across all potential locations in Thailand by 2024. This collaboration between Arun Plus, which operates a comprehensive electric vehicle business, and AWC, a leading Thai real estate developer with diverse projects in major tourist cities nationwide, represents a significant step in driving investment in future energy innovations to strengthen Thailand’s electric vehicle ecosystem in all dimensions, including production, sales, energy storage systems, electric vehicle rental platforms, as well as renewable energy and energy conservation. This also supports the use of clean energy in line with PTT Group’s net-zero emissions policy.”
The on-ion electric vehicle charging stations utilize a “Green Charging Network,” where electric vehicle drivers receive clean energy sourced from 100% renewable energy produced entirely in Thailand. Additionally, the on-ion Mobile Application facilitates drivers in locating charging stations and accessing various exclusive benefits, ensuring convenience for electric vehicle users at AWC properties, enhancing safety in driving, and allowing for worry-free travel.
The collaboration between AWC and Arun Plus aligns with AWC’s commitment to conducting business according to its sustainable development strategy under the BETTER PLANET framework, aiming for a better environment by driving Thailand towards carbon neutrality by 2030 and supporting the use of high-efficiency clean energy, which is one of the major global trends for energy conservation, while uniting efforts to “create a better future.”
