National Housing Authority Collaborates with Three Agencies to Drive Sustainable Housing and Urban Development
Dr. Nahathai Tiwpaingam, Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, presided over the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding for the development of national open data on housing for the "Housing for All" project. The event was attended by Mr. Kitti Sajjavathana, Director of the Area Development Fund Management Unit at the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NSTDA), Ms. Airada Leuangwilai, Acting Deputy Director of the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) (DGA), Mr. Mongkol Janthasee, Deputy Governor of the National Housing Authority, and Dr. Pongpisit.

Mr. Mongkol Janthasee, Deputy Governor of the National Housing Authority, revealed that the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA) organized the International Open Data Day 2025 and signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of national open data on housing for the "Housing for All" project. The focus is on integrating and developing a comprehensive and modern database on housing and urban development in Thailand to aid in analyzing situations, assessing trends, and formulating effective housing policies at both national and local levels. Additionally, the project aims to collect and disseminate research, data, and analyses related to housing to serve as tools for monitoring and forecasting economic and social trends, while providing opportunities for various agencies to exchange information, knowledge, and academic experiences to enhance operational capabilities and create relevant research networks. The main goal is to drive sustainable housing and urban development using data as a foundation to support policy formulation at the national level and local implementation, leading to tangible outcomes in the future. The National Housing Authority has established a National Housing Data Center that consolidates and organizes housing data (Big Data) scattered across various agencies into a single database. Therefore, in this collaboration, the National Housing Authority will support a knowledge base on housing development and integrate housing information databases to manage housing data for all effectively.

Academically, research on housing development for all aims to enhance the quality of life for citizens and reduce inequality. Importantly, there will be joint efforts to promote housing policies at the agency, department, ministry, and network partner levels.

At the same time, the Area Development Fund Management Unit at the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NSTDA) will support the linkage and development of cooperation mechanisms among government agencies, the private sector, non-profit organizations, and local communities.
The Digital Government Development Agency (DGA) will support a central data management system, such as the CKAN Data Catalog, as a tool for data exchange under the data governance framework among network partners in the "Housing for All" project. Together with project partner agencies, it will define data architecture, data structure, and data standards necessary for the project to ensure effective data utilization and establish security measures for data access in accordance with the data governance framework to support safe and appropriate data usage, enhancing access to and utilization of open data in driving the project.

The Urban Studies Institute (USI) will support the development of data security measures, data architecture, and data governance for the "Housing for All" project to facilitate the exchange and utilization of data in driving sustainable housing and urban development.
