Britania Public Company Limited, or BRI, a leader in real estate development committed to creating sustainable housing for a better society, has reaffirmed its success with a focus on quality growth for a livable community and a sustainable world. Mr. Teeradech Kerdsamang, CEO of Britania Public Company Limited, represented the company in receiving the ISO 14064-1:2018 certification for controlling and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from business activities for the year 2024, marking the second consecutive year of certification from Mr. Sarawut Supharatchanaporn, a representative from Bureau Veritas Certification (Thailand). The company aims for Net Zero by 2044 through efforts to control and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across its current 38 projects and future developments, covering all locations in Bangkok, the surrounding areas, and provinces.
Mr. Teeradech Kerdsamang, CEO of Britania Public Company Limited, stated that the company has been in operation for over 7 years. In addition to developing homes and designing living functions that meet needs, we recognize that creating a sustainable environment is a collective responsibility of society. In the past, the company has consistently emphasized its commitment to environmental issues and has aimed to control and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The goal is to achieve carbon neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, which has led to the assessment and reporting of the company's greenhouse gas emissions, certified according to the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard by Bureau Veritas Certification (Thailand) for the second consecutive year. This serves as a guideline for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from business activities, which will be implemented across all projects in various locations throughout Bangkok, the surrounding areas, and provinces. Currently, there are a total of 38 projects in diverse locations, such as the Bangna-Bangplee-Bangbo zone, Rama 9-Krungthep Kreetha zone, Rama 5-Ratchaphruek-Nonthaburi zone, and the Saimai-Khukhot zone, as well as in provinces like Rayong, Chonburi, Ayutthaya, Udon Thani, and Khon Kaen.
The company aims for Net Zero by 2044 through operations across the entire value chain, starting from design, selecting green-labeled materials, and construction, to increasing green spaces and waste management, all the way to the end, such as waste management in various project areas and converting food waste into fertilizer to reduce food waste within projects. Additionally, the company supports the use of clean energy, aiming to install rooftop solar panels at clubhouses and EV charging points to instill a sense of pride in contributing to environmental preservation through the choice of homes that consider creating a good environment.
Receiving the ISO 14064-1 certification, an international standard for greenhouse gas emissions, will help organizations measure and report their greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with international standards. Organizations worldwide will be able to prepare for compliance with the same laws and regulations, allowing them to compare themselves with similar organizations in terms of greenhouse gas emissions and create opportunities to enhance competitive advantages through learning from best practices.
