Colonel Nunn Sansanakom, Director of the Government Lottery Office (GLO), along with senior executives and Ms. Parita Jamkrajang, Director of Ban Nong Pra Ngan School (Lottery Charity No. 364 Hom-Boon Nak Anukroh) in Nonthaburi, representing the 77 lottery charity schools nationwide, launched a project to support these schools by providing and installing solar panel systems.

Colonel Nunn Sansanakom stated that the GLO has consistently committed to contributing to social development in a sustainable manner, particularly in promoting education for Thai youth, aligning with the national development policy over the next 20 years (2018-2038) under the national strategy for creating opportunities and social equality, while also adhering to the vision of "an organization focused on innovation, promoting the economy and society, and gaining public acceptance."

In 2024, the GLO has allocated a budget to support and develop lottery charity schools for the procurement and installation of solar energy systems (solar panels) for 77 schools nationwide. This initiative recognizes the importance of energy conservation and aims to raise awareness among youth about the valuable use of energy through clean solar energy, which will also help reduce electricity costs and provide sustainable benefits to the schools.

“The GLO believes that this project will promote social responsibility through practical application using appropriate technology and innovation, creating an environment conducive to learning. When youth engage in the process of producing and using energy themselves, they will recognize its value and develop a good consciousness towards sustainable environmental care,” Colonel Nunn stated.

The plan for installing solar panel systems at the 77 lottery charity schools will commence from July to September 2024, featuring solar panel sets of no less than 5 kilowatts that meet standard certifications.
