"Pruksa" Partners with "Nakhon Luang Cement" to Promote "Green Cement" Innovation, Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Elevating the Construction Industry Towards Sustainability
"Pruksa" reaffirms its leadership in supporting the construction industry to drive business while caring for the environment, partnering with "Nakhon Luang Cement" or "Insee Cement" to introduce the product "Insee Diamond Easy Flow Cement", classified as a type of hydraulic cement or green cement, as a component in concrete for Pruksa projects. This initiative helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 5 million tons, while also advancing the use of green technology in producing low-carbon precast panels and designing homes that combat climate change.

Mr. Uthen Lohachitpitak, Chief Executive Officer of Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited stated that Pruksa aims to be a leader in creating a perfect quality of living for sustainable growth under the concept "Caring for Life... Living Well, Being Happy." A key strategy to drive this vision is the "Green to Great" concept, focusing on sustainable organizational development based on ESG (Environment, Social, Governance). Pruksa has announced a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 and aims for carbon neutrality by 2050, aligning with the goals of Thailand and the international community.
In line with this vision, Pruksa has partnered with Insee Cement since 2019, opting to use Insee Diamond Easy Flow Cement, a green cement that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, initially in Pruksa's horizontal projects. Currently, approximately 327 horizontal projects are utilizing Insee Diamond Easy Flow Cement, which can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 5 million tons, equivalent to planting over 524,483 trees.

"Homes under the Pruksa brand are low-carbon homes. In addition to constructing projects using environmentally friendly cement from Insee Diamond Easy Flow, Pruksa is also the first real estate developer to use Carbon Cure technology, a green technology for producing low-carbon precast panels in home construction. This process injects carbon dioxide, a major contributor to atmospheric degradation, into the concrete mixing process, thereby reducing carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions while also decreasing cement usage by 5% without compromising strength standards. Recently, the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization certified the carbon footprint for Inno Precast, granting it the Carbon Footprint Reduction (CFR) label, making it the first and only precast in Thailand's industry to receive this certification, along with other construction materials that have also received the Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) label.

Moreover, homes under the Pruksa brand prioritize designs that help reduce heat and utilize innovations that save energy, such as solar panels, ventilation systems, air filtration innovations, and energy reduction technologies. They also support EV chargers and offer services through the MyHaus application, an innovative smart home system that controls IoT and home security, is environmentally friendly, and helps residents save costs," Mr. Uthen added.

Mr. Montree Nithikul, Chief Executive Officer of Cement Business in Thailand, Nakhon Luang Cement Public Company Limited stated that the company is one of the leading cement market players in Thailand, focusing on product development and innovation to deliver the highest quality products that meet customer needs. At the same time, the company is a producer of cement and ready-mixed concrete with a clear sustainability goal aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions from its products. Insee Diamond Easy Flow Cement is another product that will drive the organization's sustainability vision, as it is a GU type hydraulic cement certified by the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) with a carbon footprint of greenhouse gas emissions lower than that of ordinary Portland cement by more than 50 kilograms of carbon dioxide per ton of cement, making it eligible for green building rating calculations both domestically and internationally.
"In addition to being environmentally friendly, Insee Diamond Easy Flow Cement also has several other outstanding properties, such as enhancing the flowability of concrete, making it easy to pour into molds, increasing work convenience, achieving high compressive strength, and being suitable for general structural construction, large structures, and precast concrete products. Furthermore, it helps reduce the chances of surface cracking in concrete due to shrinkage from fine concrete that flows well. Insee Diamond Easy Flow Cement thus meets the needs of Pruksa's projects and instills confidence in Pruksa's homeowners," Mr. Montree concluded.
