Mr. Thaveepong Vichaiyathit, Governor of the National Housing Authority, revealed that the authority inspected the progress of the construction of the Din Daeng Community Revitalization Project, Phase 2, Building D1, during the final phase on April 26, 2024. This is in preparation for handing over the building to the original residents of Flats 23-32 in the Din Daeng community housing project. Minister of Social Development and Human Security, Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, emphasized the importance of ensuring the construction of this project is orderly and that lessons learned from issues encountered in other buildings are applied to improve Building D1. The construction must be completed on schedule, with high quality, and include a security system using key cards for access to the building, along with modern equipment to ensure residents enjoy convenience and an improved quality of life.

For the design of Building D1, the National Housing Authority considered the concept of Universal Design to accommodate people of all ages and abilities, including the elderly and persons with disabilities. The building will consist of 35 floors with units of 33 square meters, totaling 612 units. Among these, 274 units are designated for vulnerable groups and the general public, including the elderly, bedridden patients, and persons with disabilities. Construction is now 100% complete, and it is expected that original residents from Flats 23-32 will be able to move in around June 2024.

Additionally, energy-saving measures have been taken into account in accordance with the policy of the Minister of Social Development and Human Security. The design allows for natural ventilation in the hallways and corridors, and natural light to reach the building. Besides the residential units, there will be gardens and green spaces on the 7th, 24th floors, and the rooftop to provide residents with easier access to green areas.

The National Housing Authority has also opened opportunities for original residents of Flats 63-64 in the Din Daeng community housing project, who need to relocate to the Phase 2 revitalization project, Building A, to move into Building D1 instead. For more details, they can contact the Metropolitan Housing Authority, Din Daeng Branch, at Soi Prachasongkhrak 7, Din Daeng District, Bangkok.
