VRANDA Welcomes the Long Year-End Holiday of 2023, Boosting Thai Tourism and Hotel Occupancy Rates
Veranda Resort Public Company Limited or VRANDA indicates that the long holiday at the end of 2023 is encouraging both Thai and foreign tourists to travel within Thailand, with hotel occupancy rates reaching 100% during the New Year festival. This surge is expected to lead to revenue growth in December 2023 compared to 2022, particularly in Koh Samui, where revenue growth exceeds 20%. This is seen as a positive sign for the Thai tourism, hotel, and resort sectors.

Mr. Phawatk Ongwasit, CEO of Veranda Resort Public Company Limited (VRANDA), a leader in the hotel, resort, and real estate development business, stated that the overall tourism market in Thailand during December 2023, with its continuous long holiday, has resulted in a lively influx of both Thai and foreign tourists. The hotels and resorts under VRANDA achieved a full occupancy rate during this holiday period, leading to revenue growth in December that surpasses that of 2022. The company anticipates that the "Easy E-Receipt" policy will effectively stimulate consumer spending. Additionally, the permanent visa exemption measures between Thailand and China, starting on March 1, 2024, are believed to be a positive factor for the Thai tourism sector.

Furthermore, the "Easy E-Receipt" initiative aims to support domestic consumption in early 2024 by providing tax benefits to individuals when purchasing goods or services from VAT-registered businesses from January 1 to February 15, 2024. Taxpayers can use full electronic tax invoices and e-receipts to reduce their taxable income by up to 50,000 THB, potentially lowering their tax liability by a maximum of 17,500 THB per person. VRANDA is fully supportive of this policy, allowing customers who stay at VRANDA hotels or resorts during the specified period to request electronic receipts for tax deductions. This initiative is seen as a beneficial project to stimulate consumer spending in early 2024, especially since VRANDA has a substantial customer base that can benefit from income tax deductions, along with several hotels conveniently located near Bangkok.
