Siam Architects Association Collaborates with TTF to Prepare for 'Architects'67' Event, Attracting Over 1,000 Companies to Showcase World-Class Technology
Siam Architects Association in collaboration with TTF has announced the upcoming event 'Architects'67' under the theme Collective Language: Experience Architecture, showcasing the identity of communication through the limitless language of architects and designers. The event will unite four professional architectural organizations to ensure a perfect execution, featuring exhibitions, architect activities, and knowledge-sharing forums led by experts from both Thailand and abroad, along with showcasing comprehensive design and construction innovations across an area of over 75,000 square meters. The event is set to take place from April 30 to May 5, 2024, at Impact Muang Thong Thani, expecting over 1,000 exhibitors from Thailand and abroad and more than 325,000 attendees.

Mr. Chana Sumpalang, President of the Siam Architects Association under Royal Patronage stated that the Architects event is currently the largest architectural technology and construction product exhibition in ASEAN, held continuously. The 'Architects'67' event marks the 36th edition, aimed at showcasing the potential and presenting advancements in architecture across all professional fields, including innovative construction products related to architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture, as well as interesting exhibitions and activities such as international seminars and various services prepared for members and the public to participate from April 30 to May 5, 2024, at Impact Muang Thong Thani.
In 2024, the Siam Architects Association under Royal Patronage will celebrate its 90th anniversary, making the 'Architects'67' event a significant opportunity. Besides serving as a platform connecting people worldwide in the architectural field and a medium for showcasing construction materials and knowledge about construction products, technologies, and innovations related to architecture in a vast area of 75,000 square meters, this event will also gather stories of architectural communication over the past 90 years since the association's establishment, allowing people to celebrate and recognize the role of promoting the architectural profession and the development of architectural knowledge, which is crucial for the quality of life in society, as well as reflecting cultural arts and contributing to the country's economy.
Ms. Kullathida Songkittipakdee, Chairperson of the 'Architects'67' event explained the concept behind 'Collective Language: Experience Architecture', stating that humans use language as a tool for communication. Currently, there are over 7,000 languages used worldwide, while the cultural arts of each nation serve as another powerful communication tool to foster understanding among people of different languages. This year's 'Architects'67' event presents the identity of communication through the limitless language of architects and designers, emphasizing the importance of architecture and design that can be experienced by people from all corners of the globe. Architects can evoke diverse tangible feelings through the use of materials and stimulate people's senses through various abstract elements in perceiving architecture. The shared design language aims to allow visitors to experience and access outstanding architectural works from around the world, interconnected through the language of architecture.
Mr. Chutthayawe Sinthuphan, Chairperson of the 'Architects'67' event discussed the uniqueness of this year's event, building on the collaboration between five architectural professional organizations: the Siam Architects Association under Royal Patronage, the Association of Thailand Interior Designers, the Association of Thailand Landscape Architects, the Association of Thailand Urban Planners, and the Council of Architects. Additionally, there is international cooperation through the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA), which comprises 22 member countries across Asia. This marks a significant collaboration to showcase professional architectural works and important activities that will take place at this event.
Dr. Prom Udomdej, Chairperson of the 'Architects'67' event outlined the main exhibitions and important activities, which include: 1.) Main exhibition 2.) Academic exhibition 3.) Professional association exhibition 4.) Activity and service area 5.) Academic seminar. The main exhibition will feature the theme exhibition 'Collective Language: Experience Architecture,' showcasing architectural works from 12 architects in Asia, along with selected works from partner associations in ARCASIA, an All Member exhibition displaying works from members of the Siam Architects Association, the Association of Thailand Interior Designers, the Association of Thailand Landscape Architects, and the Association of Thailand Urban Planners under the theme 'All Member: The Collective Practices,' Collective Experience activities, and exhibitions from the Association of Thailand Interior Designers: TIDA, the Association of Thailand Landscape Architects: TALA, and the Association of Thailand Urban Planners: TUDA.
Assistant Professor Dr. Ratphong Angkasith, Chairperson of the 'Architects'67' event added details about other exhibitions at the event, including the ASA Experimental Design Competition, exhibitions of outstanding architecture, the 2024 Architectural Conservation Award exhibition, VERNADOC exhibition, and student works/exhibitions from educational institutions. The activity and service area will include the ASA Club, a meeting and relaxation spot for ASA members, ASA Night 2024, a traditional gathering event for ASA members, and services in collaboration with the Council of Architects (ACT), providing consultation services on various architectural matters, and the ACT Shop, a space for selling books and souvenirs, along with academic seminars such as ASA Forum 2024 and ASA Seminar 2024 to exchange knowledge in design and technical information in the profession, featuring designers and architectural experts from abroad, with interesting discussion topics under the theme 'Collective Language: Experience Architecture,' organized in a Hybrid Forum format, allowing interested participants to register for on-site and online attendance from anywhere in the country.
Mr. Supaman Markha, Deputy Managing Director of TTF International Co., Ltd. stated that as the organizer of 'Architects'67', we aim to expand the event to be larger than previous years, expecting over 1,000 exhibitors, a 9.4% increase, with approximately 30% of exhibitors from abroad. We anticipate over 325,000 attendees, a 6.25% increase, with over 15,838 square meters of space already booked, accounting for 52.79% of total sales area, which is 33.8% higher than the same period last year.
Leading exhibitors who have confirmed their participation include SCG, MAKITA, JORAKAY, TOSTEM, VG, TOA, PANTAMITR, CONNEXT, DOS, CRISTINA, TAK, among others. Additionally, several exhibitors have expanded their space from previous events, such as BLACK+DECKER, WILSONART, Q LIGHTING, ARITCO, LAMPTITUDE, PANEL PLUS, GLASTEN, FORMICA, and many new exhibitors joining the event, including BOONTHAVORN, ROCOCO, NOVATI & CO, ROBERT BOSCH, BATHIC, DELTA, BLUE INTERNATIONAL, YUASA TRADING, LIGMAN, TRUE CONNECTION.
Moreover, highlights of the event, besides the association's area, will include the Thematic Pavilion, showcasing the collaborative potential of construction material suppliers and architects, merging innovation development with creative interpretations of those innovations in various styles. The Best Innovation Award 2024 will be held for construction product innovations debuting at the event, reinforcing that the Architects event is a platform for gathering construction product innovations from brands worldwide for everyone to experience first.
