Mr. Itthiphol Khunpluem, Minister of Culture, presided over the opening of “THE ICONIC SONGKRAN FESTIVAL 2023” at Icon Siam, a marvelous celebration of Chao Phraya Songkran 2566, aimed at preserving and promoting the rich culture of Thailand for the world to see. The grand opening ceremony featured a spectacular performance titled 'Sawasdee Si San Wan Pi Mai Thai' and showcased the beauty of Miss Kimita Devi, the Songkran Goddess for the year 2566.

The event took place on Tuesday, April 11, 2566, starting at 16:00, and invited attendees to participate in the ceremonial bathing of a replica Buddha statue made of flower pollen from Wat Sarapathaneuk in Ubon Ratchathani. This statue is based on the legendary original flower pollen Buddha, an ancient piece from the reign of King Rama V, with only five such statues created in Thailand. Attendees enjoyed an exciting mini-concert from top artists and experienced cultural performances, all while having fun with water splashing during Songkran along the Chao Phraya River throughout the day, under safety measures, amidst a vibrant atmosphere decorated with various colorful flowers at River Park, Level G.
