Asset World Corporation Public Company Limited (AWC), a Thai real estate developer focused on comprehensive lifestyle solutions, has signed an agreement to develop and manage the Fairmont Hotel in collaboration with Accor, a leading global hotel network. This marks the launch of the first Fairmont hotel in Thailand, aimed at enhancing Bangkok's status as a global luxury MICE market. The Fairmont brand, a premier luxury brand under Accor, boasts a rich history spanning over a century and is located in unique settings in major cities worldwide, aligning with AWC's strategy to develop projects in high-potential locations. This significant partnership introduces Thailand's first luxury hotel catering to the MICE segment, bringing unparalleled luxury to the heart of Bangkok's business district and expanding the company's customer base.

The Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit is set to open in 2024, rebranding from the Grand Mercure Bangkok Windsor located in the Sukhumvit area, transforming it into a Fairmont-branded hotel. Guests will experience the legendary Fairmont brand's distinctive offerings, including classic and unique design, along with exceptional dining and service.

Designed under the concept of “A Tasteful Touch of Elegance and Simplicity,” the Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit will feature approximately 419 rooms, restaurants and bars, and a rooftop bar with stunning views of Bangkok's skyline. The hotel will also include a swimming pool, fitness center, spa, health center, and fully equipped meeting rooms with various sizes to meet the needs of both domestic and international clients.

Naowalapa Traisorat, CEO and Managing Director of Asset World Corporation Public Company Limited (AWC) stated, “AWC is thrilled to collaborate with Accor, a leading global hotel group, to launch the first Fairmont hotel in Thailand through a partnership agreement to develop multiple hotels under Accor's leading brands since December 2022. The opening of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, a legendary luxury brand with unique service, will enhance AWC's portfolio in the MICE segment in prime locations in Bangkok. It will also be the first hotel in the AWC portfolio managed by Accor. Furthermore, Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit will be the first comprehensive luxury hotel for MICE in Thailand, aiming to elevate the country as a global luxury MICE market, strengthen the Thai tourism industry, and create long-term sustainable value for the surrounding community and society.”

“The MICE market is one of the fastest-growing business segments since the end of the pandemic, with hotel occupancy rates in the AWC MICE segment nearly doubling from 2021 to 2022. Additionally, Bangkok is one of the world's leading destinations for leisure and business, renowned for its food, culture, and lifestyle, along with convenient transportation infrastructure. This makes Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, located in a prime area, well-suited to meet the demands of luxury meetings and events in the new era,” Naowalapa added.

Mr. Mark Willis, CEO of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts expressed, “We are confident and delighted to partner with AWC to bring the luxury brand Fairmont to Thailand for the first time. The Fairmont brand is truly legendary, offering world-class service and creating memorable experiences for guests. We believe that collaborating with a partner like AWC, who shares our vision, will help set a new standard for luxury service in Bangkok, support sustainable growth for Thailand's tourism industry, and continue to expand the Fairmont brand across Southeast Asia.”

Fairmont Hotels is a high-end brand from North America, providing luxurious accommodations, world-class dining, and unique locations to create impressive and special experiences for visitors. This aligns with Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit's goal of offering memorable experiences through a design narrative under the theme “The Fantastic Journey of Travel to the Bygone Era,” likening the hotel to a second home for guests, featuring luxurious and elegant decor with carefully selected handcrafted classic furniture. Guests will also enjoy dining and bar experiences serving both international and Asian cuisine. Furthermore, in line with its commitment to sustainability, the hotel aims to develop the building according to green building standards, such as LEED and WELL, focusing on energy efficiency and promoting a circular economy in waste management.

With the strengths of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit located in the heart of Sukhumvit and Asoke, an area with numerous multinational corporate offices, close to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and leading shopping centers like The EM District, along with convenient access to BTS and MRT, it will elevate Bangkok as a global travel destination while meeting the needs of the MICE segment seeking modern meeting technologies and tools for hosting world-class events.

The Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit is the first hotel to open under the partnership agreement to develop multiple hotels under Accor's leading brands, a premier international hotel and service network. Under this collaboration, AWC and Accor will jointly develop hotels in key tourist destinations across Thailand, totaling over 1,000 rooms, to provide exceptional service and experiences for visitors while promoting Thailand as a sustainable travel destination.
