Naya Residence by LiveWell has teamed up with global partner Thrive Senior Living to launch Senior Living services aimed at the purchasing power of retirees in Thailand. The first phase targets high-potential tourist markets such as Phuket, Hua Hin, Chonburi, and health program destinations to cater to the lifestyle of the elderly, with the hope of becoming a global brand.

Dr. Nat Fongsamut, an expert in elderly management with over 20 years of experience and founder of “LiveWell Living,” revealed that the trend of an aging society is expanding in Thailand and many countries worldwide. There are three key areas to prepare for retirement: physical and mental health, savings and finances, and a social network or group of friends to socialize with.”

Having worked in this field for over 20 years, I have begun to see interesting trends. Previously, most residents were single elderly individuals, but now, many working-age children visit our projects with their elderly parents to find the best accommodation for them, allowing the children to work with peace of mind knowing their parents are well cared for. It can be said that a good elderly residence must be able to serve all family members. Some of our units have family rooms for visiting relatives, but the most important aspect in alleviating concerns is effective communication between the residents' relatives and the establishment.

The goal of developing a good elderly residence is to help residents maintain their independence and health for as long as possible, enabling them to engage in daily activities, contribute to society, take pride in themselves, and feel dignified. Additionally, creating a good quality of life is a top priority for service providers. Naya Residence will focus on monitoring all residents, even if they do not currently have health issues, to allow the team to implement preventive measures and help residents maintain a high quality of life for as long as possible.

“At Naya Residence, residents can wake up to the beautiful atmosphere by the Chao Phraya River, practice morning yoga, swim in the afternoon, and dine with friends in the evening. Recently, we organized a birthday celebration for one of the residents, and everyone came to congratulate them. Experiences like this go beyond medical dimensions and cannot be replicated at home. Coupled with daily health monitoring and 24-hour care readiness, we can confidently say this is truly the best lifestyle,” Dr. Nat stated.

With the service standards already established at Naya Residence, we are now preparing to elevate the quality of elderly care by partnering with Thrive Senior Living, an expert and provider of health programs from the United States.

In the early stages of our collaboration, we will focus on consulting for elderly accommodation management to meet standard levels while also preparing future plans to expand the retirement market for both those residing in Thailand and Thai nationals living abroad who wish to return to relax and retire in Thailand.

“Thrive Senior Living will work with our team to assess care standards, health programs, pricing structures, sales, marketing, and other aspects based on standards from the United States and the United Kingdom. We will also assist in managing residences in new locations such as Phuket, Hua Hin, and Chonburi, which are attractive retirement destinations for foreigners in Thailand. Once our concept is solidified, we will definitely share our learnings with other projects in the future. It is indeed a timely opportunity to meet the growing market demand,” Dr. Nat stated.

Mr. Jeramy Ragsdale, founder and CEO of Thrive Senior Living, a renowned developer and manager of senior living projects in the United States and the United Kingdom, stated that we find cultural contexts for the elderly vary across countries, but the primary desire of the elderly is to be independent and maintain social connections. This is the main goal we prioritize.

Additionally, it is surprisingly found that the elderly have desires similar to those of younger people, such as social connections, gourmet food, and good health. Therefore, the role of senior living facilities is to create an environment that encourages interaction and communication among the elderly while providing quality physical health services by experts.

“When we got to know the LiveWell team, we were immediately impressed by the health innovations, facilities, and beautiful buildings along the Chao Phraya River. Naya stands out with world-class gourmet food, fitness rooms, and river views. All of this is elevated further by our proprietary health programs, which help residents track their key health indicators to detect early signs of illness, with a medical team on hand. This is where we differentiate our services from current providers in the market, most of whom focus solely on lifestyle or care, with no one offering a blended model of lifestyle, health, and medical care like Naya Residence,” said the CEO of Thrive Senior Living.

Currently, Thailand is entering an aging society, and it is expected that in the next 20 years, there will be 1 million people entering the elderly age group (over 60 years) each year. More than 20% of the population is over 65 years old, while over 7.5 million people in Thailand are over 65 years old. The CEO of Thrive Senior Living stated that with the right guidance and appropriate processes, Thailand can become a regional leader in health services and residences for the elderly in the future.
