Pruksa Holding has partnered with KPN Senior Hospital Group, a leader in elderly healthcare provided by specialized doctors, a quality workforce, and integrated technology for seamless care. The company is investing 325 million baht to acquire common shares and invest in convertible bonds, holding a total of 35% of the shares. This investment aims to help KPN Senior Hospital Group expand its elderly rehabilitation hospitals and physical therapy services by adding 6 new facilities, totaling over 600 beds. This initiative will enhance service experiences and expand the customer base to meet the growing trend of holistic health care among the elderly, promoting preventive health care for sustainable quality of life. Additionally, it aims to establish a new standard of medical services in Thailand, elevating the country to become a Long-Term Care Destination in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Uthen Lohachitpitak, CEO of Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited stated, “According to the Ministry of Public Health, Thailand is preparing to transition into a Super-Aged Society by 2031. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also reported that the population in Southeast Asia is aging rapidly, with the percentage of people aged 60 and over increasing from 9.8% in 2017 to 13.7% by 2030 and 20.3% by 2040. This data has made Pruksa Holding aware of the necessity for appropriate health services for all elderly individuals, starting from disease prevention knowledge to standard medical treatment for a better quality of life, aligned with our long-held concept of 'living well and happily.' We see an opportunity to address the challenges of improving the quality of life for the elderly and their families by collaborating with KPN Senior Hospital Group, which specializes in comprehensive elderly healthcare solutions to support the aging society. This collaboration will help KPN Senior Hospital Group expand its business by managing nursing homes in the Bangna-Bearing and Watcharaphon areas, totaling 240 beds, with plans to manage 5 more nursing homes over the next 3 years, aiming for a total of 600 beds.

Regarding operations, Pruksa Holding has prepared plans to push forward Wimut Hospital, a subsidiary, in collaboration with KPN Senior Hospital Group. Wimut Hospital aims to provide holistic care for both body and mind, promoting health for all ages, especially the elderly, to ensure sustainable quality of life. Additionally, various technologies will be integrated to support seamless service delivery. Working with KPN Senior Hospital Group is crucial in helping Wimut Hospital achieve its goals of promoting health and providing the best services for the elderly and their families.

Mr. Uthen further elaborated, “Wimut Hospital does not see itself merely as a hospital; we are a Trusted Healthcare Platform that can serve people in various communities, especially the elderly, and provide seamless health services. We emphasize prevention, health promotion, and rehabilitation for good health at every age. In the past, Wimut Hospital has expanded its services by opening rehabilitation and healthcare centers for the elderly and families, which serve as recovery centers after surgery or illness requiring close care. We also offer outpatient services such as physical therapy, daily care, and general clinics, etc. We have been able to provide comprehensive care through a multidisciplinary team and have integrated Digital Health Technology to support our services.

However, the current demands of the elderly population are quite diverse and specific. Wimut Hospital is therefore seeking partners to strengthen and continue the service approach in the rehabilitation and healthcare centers for the elderly and families. Collaborating with KPN Senior Hospital Group represents a significant step forward, leveraging their long-standing expertise in elderly care, experienced quality teams, and the integration of technology, along with knowledge exchange and innovation development to address issues and meet the needs of the elderly, while also instilling confidence in families that their loved ones are under the best care.

Dr. Kengpong Tangarunsanti, CEO of KPN Senior Hospital Co., Ltd. stated, “The senior care market is growing significantly in Thailand, the ASEAN region, and internationally. Over the past 2-3 years, the company has transformed from a Service Provider to a Service Solution for the Longevity Society of Thailand and the world, aiming to become a destination for elderly living for everyone. We have expanded from rehabilitation to promoting prevention and preparing for a healthy longevity society, which is a new trend that is gaining global attention. We offer Healthcare to Home services that provide medical care at home under the Aging-in-place concept. Our challenge is to ensure that the elderly remain strong, healthy, and have a good quality of life for as long as possible in their familiar and friendly living environments, or if they fall ill, they can receive care and rehabilitation quickly, helping to reduce costs and meet all their needs.

The collaboration between Pruksa Holding and Wimut Hospital will enhance service capabilities to achieve the set goals. KPN Senior Hospital Group will become part of the health business ecosystem within Wimut, allowing for the transfer and exchange of knowledge and expertise, as well as access to quality personnel. Additionally, we will gain access to various resources that Wimut Hospital possesses, along with its comprehensive specialized treatment centers and modern medical equipment, ensuring seamless referrals for complex cases. The strengths of both sides will enable us to work together effectively to provide services to the elderly and lay the foundation for becoming a global Senior Destination sustainably in the near future.”
