Messe Düsseldorf Asia has joined forces with industry partners to organize 4 major exhibitions focused on wire, cable, pipes, conduit, metal casting, and metallurgy, featuring over 200 exhibitors from 28 countries worldwide. These include: 1. The 14th International Wire and Cable Exhibition for Southeast Asia, 2. The 13th International Tube and Conduit Exhibition for Southeast Asia, 3. The 1st International Metal Casting Exhibition and Forum for Southeast Asia, and 4. The 1st International Metallurgy Exhibition and Forum for Southeast Asia.

The aim of these events is to reinforce the role of wire, cable, pipes and conduits, metal casting, and steel in over 30 industrial business sectors, while highlighting key trends expected to emerge in terms of value and industrial opportunities that businesses must adapt to. All four exhibitions will take place from October 5-7, 2022, at BITEC Bangna.

Mr. Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia stated that the overall economic recovery in Asia and ASEAN is showing positive signs, particularly in the manufacturing, infrastructure, and various construction sectors. In the fourth quarter and throughout 2023, improvements are expected compared to the first three quarters of the year. This recovery has also led to increased demand for metal parts, construction equipment, and has significantly encouraged many businesses to develop new technologies and innovations to meet the demands and changes in the economy, such as environmental friendliness, smart technologies, data management, and more.

Messe Düsseldorf Asia recognizes the demand for these resources as the country reopens, aiming to serve as a platform to stimulate the heavy industrial manufacturing sector between Thailand, ASEAN, Asia, and Europe by organizing 4 major exhibitions in Thailand: 1. The 14th International Wire and Cable Exhibition for Southeast Asia (Wire Southeast Asia 2022), 2. The 13th International Tube and Conduit Exhibition for Southeast Asia (Tube Southeast Asia 2022), 3. The 1st International Metal Casting Exhibition and Forum for Southeast Asia (GIFA Southeast Asia 2022), and 4. The 1st International Metallurgy Exhibition and Forum for Southeast Asia (METEC Southeast Asia 2022).

“These 4 major infrastructure exhibitions have attracted interest from companies in Thailand and foreign companies, with about 90% participation showcasing innovations. Many exhibitors have participated in Messe Düsseldorf Asia's events since 1997. This year, over 200 companies from 28 countries are participating, along with 5 international pavilions from Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the UK, and the Thai Metal Casting Association, aiming to disseminate business information widely and highlight the role of wire, cable, pipes and conduits, metal casting, and metallurgy in over 30 industrial business sectors, such as modern automotive, buildings, construction, aerospace, mining, and transportation.”

In addition to stimulating growth in the wire, cable, pipes and conduits, metal casting, and steel sectors, Messe Düsseldorf Asia anticipates that all 4 exhibitions will bring about significant changes:

Wire and Cable is expected to grow in line with investment demand in underground and underwater cable projects, the upgrading of smart grid systems, and the replacement of old transmission lines with high-voltage cables. Additionally, various developers are competing to enhance internet technologies to connect new lifestyles, such as telemedicine and teleconferencing. From 2022 to 2027, an average annual growth rate of 4.4% is anticipated, increasing from the current value of $190 billion. Key markets in Asia include China, Japan, and India, with demand expected in aviation and aerospace, building construction, oil, gas and energy, IT, and telecommunications.

Pipes and Conduits will play a significant role in the oil and gas industry, liquid transfer, and underground investment sectors. Opportunities for Thai and global businesses lie in the development of seamless pipes and high-pressure resistant pipes. The Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia regions represent significant markets for pipes and conduits due to their large manufacturing sectors, such as petroleum and petrochemicals, accounting for over 44% of global usage with over 1.7 billion tons. Furthermore, it is projected that within 5 years, this industry will grow in value at an average rate of 6.2%, increasing from $129 billion to $231 billion by 2027.

Steel and Metal Casting is expected to gradually grow in response to construction sector demand, despite ongoing price volatility in iron ore and inflation. The anticipated growth areas include lightweight construction materials to promote energy savings, as well as a shift from traditional casting processes to new technologies utilizing recycled metals as a key driver for this industry. However, in terms of production types and usage, hot-rolled steel, cold-rolled steel, and flat-rolled steel are expected to be the most utilized in industrial structures, public utilities improvements, and real estate.

All 4 exhibitions will not only showcase highlight technologies impacting over 30 industrial sectors but will also provide information to prepare for the new economic and industrial era from industry leaders on interesting topics, such as the crucial role in enhancing maintenance efficiency, technologies used for heat treatment in metal industries and various standards, future predictions, and the use of big data, along with business matching activities, scheduled from October 5-7, 2022, at BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center.
