RT continues to secure projects, including the construction of tunnels for the dual-track railway project from Denchai to Chiang Rai and Chiang Khong, under Contract 2 for the Ngao-Chiang Rai section, valued at 2.157 billion baht. Construction is expected to commence and revenue recognition to begin by the end of 2022, which will push the backlog beyond the target of 9.375 billion baht.

Mr. Chawalit Thanomthin, CEO of Right Tunneling Public Company Limited (RT), a specialist in civil engineering and geotechnical engineering, announced that the company has secured the construction project for the dual-track railway from Denchai to Chiang Rai and Chiang Khong, specifically for the tunnel construction in the Ngao-Chiang Rai section, valued at 2.157 billion baht. The company is a subcontractor for the CKS-TDC joint venture, which includes Ch. Karnchang Public Company Limited, Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited, and Buriram Panasit Company Limited.

This project is part of the overall railway construction from Denchai to Chiang Rai and Chiang Khong, initiated by the State Railway of Thailand, following a Cabinet resolution, covering a total distance of 323 kilometers. Three construction contracts have been signed, including Contract 1 for the Denchai-Ngao section, Contract 2 for the Ngao-Chiang Rai section, and Contract 3 for the Chiang Rai-Chiang Khong section.

“This new project is an extension of previous work, leveraging our experienced personnel and specialized expertise, along with the company’s specialized tools. We have already received a Letter of Intent (LOI) and expect to commence construction and start recognizing revenue in the fourth quarter of 2022,” said Mr. Chawalit.

Additionally, the company is fully prepared to operate at maximum capacity, managing construction labor effectively and maintaining good cost management, while continuously monitoring progress to ensure timely completion. The ongoing engagement in public sector projects has resulted in the company currently having a backlog of 9.375 billion baht, exceeding the initial target of 8.5 billion baht.
