Mr. Uthen Lohachitpitak, CEO of Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited stated, “One of Pruksa's main missions is to create sustainable value and provide good opportunities for society, communities, and the environment. Pruksa aims to support social enterprises that share the same goals and aspirations to realize dreams, using innovation as a key mechanism to drive business and create significant, sustainable change in society.”

Pruksa has initiated the pilot project to incubate startups “Accelerate Impact with PRUKSA” this year, to seek and support companies in Thailand that operate social enterprises needing assistance to strengthen their business, enabling them to achieve their goals of creating a positive impact on social and environmental development as per their organizational objectives.

The social enterprises we are looking for must have dual objectives (double bottom lines), which are: (1) generating profit from business operations and (2) creating a positive impact on society. These enterprises should aim to improve the lives and well-being of marginalized groups or individuals who are not treated equally, addressing issues such as skills mismatch, income gaps, upskilling, reskilling, and innovative solutions for employment or proactive solutions in elderly care to help seniors find renewed purpose in life.

Participating companies must be ready to expand their business to create a greater social impact, utilizing the funding received from the program. They will have access to Pruksa's internal resources, including skill enhancement, capacity building, business networking, innovation development capabilities, and increased business opportunities to further enhance their positive social impact. We invite social entrepreneurs with the following business characteristics to join the program:

  • Registered as a company in Thailand, with a viable business model, proven sales, and revenue that demonstrate sustainable self-sufficiency.
  • Possess innovative solutions to address social issues.
  • Have a strong business plan with potential for expansion and operations to create impact and reach more people, for example, by leveraging technology and various platforms.
  • Have a framework for measuring results and tracking key performance indicators, such as business growth rates, financial status, target audience reach, and impact metrics.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, experienced teams, and a clear commitment to building a sustainable business for impact.

Selected companies in the “Accelerate Impact with PRUKSA” program will receive initial funding of 600,000 baht from Pruksa and may also have the opportunity to receive additional funding from the “Wichitpongpan Fund”, which is a personal fund of Mr. Thongma Wichitpongpan, Chairman and CEO of Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited. Moreover, companies will be considered for investment from Pruksa under the Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) and receive internal resource support from Pruksa, such as expert consulting on business planning, strategic expansion, additional training, and building and expanding business networks in the industry.

“Because we do not only focus on building houses, but we also want to ‘create lives’ that are good and prosperous for Thai society. The “Accelerate Impact with PRUKSA” project is Pruksa's commitment to creating opportunities, value, and better lives for society and communities to grow together sustainably and tangibly, to elevate the true quality of happiness in the lives of all Thais,” Mr. Uthen said.
